Elysian Dank Dust IPA this time. Not nearly as good as their normal Space Dust. imo anyway. Some here might like it.
Usually when a beer says it's "dank," it just means it's hazy and hoppy. The moment you open this can, you get a giant whiff of weed, and even the sips are smokey.
As someone who doesn't actually enjoy smoking weed, I wish I had gone with anything else.

Drinking a pitcher of Alexander Keith’s IPA in a roadside pub in Ontario, Canada… having had a massive row with the missus.
It’s ok. I guess.

Uh oh.
So...er....like a big row storm off type row or you're both just sat there ignoring each other staring at your phones type row?

No I stormed off. I mean me apologising is inevitable but right now I’m too filled with righteous indignation to do anything other than drink.

Fucker innit?

Is the beer nice at least? I've developed a taste for IPAs in recent years having never been that bothered by them in the past.

As someone who's drank mostly IPAs for the past 15 or so years, see if you can get any tropical IPAs. I was kind of over imperial pale ales in general for awhile now because they all taste so similarly (and like pine cones after awhile), but the tropical variety has given the style a new life for me.

Will do. Always up for something different, not really seen that about tbh. So compared to say Blue Moon and that cirtus thing they're going for with making people serving it with a slice of orange. That sorta direction?

That sorta direction? Kind of! That's more weissbier style, but as an example, I had one of these a couple of weeks ago, and it was fantastic. www.gooseisland.com/beers/seasonal-beers/tropical-beer-hugIf you have to, pretend you're in the US for the age check. Not sure which varieties are available across the pond. But the fruit really does really add to the drinkability and aroma, while helping against some of the dry mouth feel.

Chops, have you subbed to Beer52 or similar? Good way to experience lots of IPAs. I did for a few months, it's not cheap but it is very nice and decadent. I'm not a massive fan of the new IPA craze but have had a few nice ones. My biggest issue is that some are just over-hopped, feels lazy.
Anyway, was sober last night. Boy is at scout camp so I took the first night in case needed.

I have a beer52 sub but I'm getting a bit bored now, I've realised that IPAs are really quite interchangeable. Some are better than others, but very few stand out anymore.
The worst IPAs just over-hop things to disguise a poor base.
Wish beer 52 offered a *purely* dark box.

Subbed for a freebie month with them via work perks ages ago. One of the drinks was a salted caramel stout that was absolutely divine. Keep meaning to see if I can find more of it. Seems a bit pricey to actually stay subbed with them.

The biggest issue I have with beer 52 is that they use Hermes - sorry, Evri - as courier so it's pot luck as to when packages are delivered.
Case in point. At 11:00 this morning I had an update that the package was out for delivery. At 11:05 it updated to "sorry there's a delay, we'll update you on the next working day" 🙃

I did the wine one too for a month or two. The wines were excellent but it was hard to justify a tenner a bottle. At least Beer52 you're not paying much more/the same as supermarket prices.

An aperol spritz to use up leftover prosecco after having folk round before heading out last night.
Hitting the spot while waiting for the fitba to start.

Had a few pints from a mate's Pinter tonight. It's the 3rd batch he's tried and it was very nice. He's not nailed the clarity yet, still cloudy but getting there in terms of froth/beer.

Is that the beer dispenser system? Quite tempted tbh, it's supposed to be decent.
Had a couple of spritzes & feeling very summery.
Sadly, it's fucking freezing up here. Temperature wise is ok, but the wind is a biter.
Stupid northern climes...

A few bottles of franziskaner and erdinger. Love them, but could already feel a headache coming on soon after starting.

Temperature wise is ok, but the wind is a biter. Stupid northern climes... It's a whole brewing system. You buy the base pack of whatever you want to brew (all proprietary, not branded), add water, and the carbonisation happens during the brewing process. It's decent but not flawless. You get 10 pints per pack.

Do you have to buy their stuff to use with the base kit or can you just buy any old ingredients?

Nah, have to buy their brew. I say base, but all you're doing is adding water tbh. pinter.co.uk/Not sure why he's not nailing the clarity but tonight's was the best yet. Albeit the pressure went and it struggled to pour the 5th and 6th pints.
