damThey gave me a bit of a scolding as I clearly didn't get it all. Best of luck, dogbotAnd yeah, as an experience it's actually much less horrible than down the neck.

Make the most of the bovril etc. Assuming you are still allowed to take that to keep hunger at bay after the 'clear oot'! I am allowed one more small piece of meat tonight (at 8) and a piece of toast in the morning, but that's it for solids. I do have Oxo, for the moment I'm drinking lemongrass and Ginger tea (my West Indian father in law swore by it) and water for the hydration. I might try a meaty drink later 😁 dam very true. No sedation, but I'm sure I've been through worse and it'll be worth it for the knowledge of what's going on.

If they ask if you want sedation, take it!

I don't think I had it, or at least, I don't think it worked. I could have totally driven home afterward (I didn't)
I watched mine on the telly, it was really interesting. I was really chuffed when I pointed our where my appendix was removed and you could see the scar and where my small intestine started, Dr confirmed (was kinda relieved at that point to see it) because it meant it was at the end.
Worst thing about it all was the wind afterwards, omg so much and sustained 😅
Hope it goes well for you!

Surprised you're allowed food, it was a no-go for me. Bovril helped!

Gas and air only.

Surprised you're allowed food, it was a no-go for me. Bovril helped! It's very late in the day tomorrow, apparently that matters. So had two lots of the lovely cleanser and then a very small portion of fish and rice a while back. Allowed one piece of toast in the morning, but doubt I'll want it.
I knew folks here would know about it.

Gas and air is a start, my wife made do with paracetamol and nearly passed out with the pain.

Magic 😁
I usually have a pretty decent pain threshold so it should be ok.

All the best for tomorrow dogbot, I had the pleasure about 18 months ago and as others have said it's not that bad.
One recommendation- don't look at the camera screen when it's going in. That shit will stay with you for life.

I had mine a couple of years ago. Its obviously uncomfortable but wasn't painful. They offered the gas but was ok without. I wasn't overly bothered about watching the screen but they laid me on my side with the screen directly in front so......
All was well anyway, hope yours is the same.

Do they not give the option of sedation then?
When I had the camera down the throat I asked and they gave it to me, I imagine up the bum would be the same.
I'll take whatever I can get! I've had valium for the snip (which didn't feel like it did anything), sedation for two of my wisdom teeth recently and the sedation for the camera into stomach.

I think dogbot has the option but is driving himself, so sedation isn't an option as you're not allowed to drive after.

I didn't take the sedation option for down the throat and wish I had. Wasn't too fussed about up the wrongun, though. Think it was an option, but it was quite cool being lucid and watching the camera's journey on screen.

Mrs has to look after things, can't sit around waiting for me for x hours, so I'm driving myself. Gotta say, I think I'd rather do CS gas training again than ever have any more Klean Prep.

Hope today goes okay dogbot . Didn't realise this was going on man. Cheers. I haven't really said anything until last night, tbh so you wouldn't have. Really hasn't been anything to talk about before now, just blood tests and a couple of scans. I haven't really been ill, but I've got some symptoms that are possibly nasty, so they just want to make sure it's not anything to worry about.

Always best to get stuff checked. Always. Hoping that it's nothing to worry about, and I'm sure it won't be, but I'm glad you're getting it looked into.

After MrsBot's father and my mate both succumbing to gastro-cancers last year (the latter because he waited ages to get checked out), I went to the doctors as soon as I realised it might be more than a recurring stomach ache.

Yeah I got myself thoroughly checked a year or so ago after not feeling great. Still remember the phone call from the doc on Christmas Eve. He spent ages on the phone going through all the results and what everything means and how none of it was anything to worry about. To this day I’m still so appreciative of that phone call.

Best of luck dogbot - I've been in and out of hospital over the last 20 years for stomach issues and had the camera up and down a few times (thankfully not during the same appointment) - never amounted to much but as others have said, it's always better to get something checked out as early as possible.
Get ready to burp and fart a lot.

Get ready to burp and fart a lot. Nothing unusual there, then. Joking aside (my Mrs' ears are burning), that's sort of where this all started, with some excess gas. Hoped it'd be the cause by they think it's a symptom. Along with some other (much less pleasant) bits. Cheers, though. Tbh, I can live with it (if that's what the option is), just best to know it's not bowel cancer or something, eh?

So my results got lumped under IBS, similar sounding symptoms to you, albeit I did have a more serious symptom to prompt the test, so hopefully the same thing.
Its a pain in the ass to deal with (pun intended) but it is reassuring to know nothing is seriously wrong.
