A Martinelli that could finish would be a very good player indeed. Hope he can find it eventually.

We've lost that nice balance we had with Timber at RB and Cala at LB.

Clattenburg throwing his former colleagues under the bus with his comments about the referee.

We've learnt that Calafiori is not a right back.

Celtic are doing well tonight, if they can get another goal the comeback might be on.

I love this ref. Totally ignores the bullshit.

PSG had more in the second half but I'm not unhappy with that result at all.

Nicely done. Havertz thoroughly excellent, Rice getting back to his best and a very solid team performance.
Second half confirmed the limitations of Kiwior in general and Cala as a RB. Neither terrible just quite average in the second half and we lost a fair bit of solidity and attacking threat.
Nice to see Merino make his debut, although he seemed to really struggle to get involved. I'm sure just teething issues.

Excellent, excellent performance. Very assured and professional. Very little panic, which was delightful. Shout out to the PSG fans, who were excellent all night.

Great to see Merino come on too, should be a big boost having him in instead of Partey.

It was good to see him, but he looked off the pace. Generally seemed to standing in the wrong places as the game happened around him. Obviously not a serious concern, but a reminder that he will likely need time to understand the requirements. Perhaps we may also need to play a little differently to get the best out of him.

I thought the same. Players were running off him a bit too easily. As you say, will take time.

The problem Merino may have is that we are on a run of newbies just rocking up and slotting in, seemingly requiring no adaptation period.
He's also missed the boat in terms of the full new signing excitement. We've already moved on to being hyped about Nwaneri. Merino's intended to be one of Arteta's lieutenants so I'm sure he'll get every chance, but I'm not sure the crowd will be as patient with him as they were with Havertz.

Is he match fit though? There's coming back from an injury, then taking a few games for fitness.

Yeah, I mean he was off the pace, but that's fine. I can't imagine it will take that long for him to click and surpass Partey, who honestly looks done in my opinion.

For the past two years I've been as frustrated by Partey as anyone, but I think he has looked far more assured recently. Still want him fired into the sun (or sold to Saudi) because reasons, but trying to being objective he looks like he's finally getting back to something close to his best. Will probably get injured on International duty rendering this moot.

Douglas Luiz apparently doesn't learn, he just gave away a penalty to Leipzig that was pretty much identical to the one he gave to us in the semifinal last year

All I'm hearing is Duran Duran and Billy Jean? Is this some kind of 80's reunion tour I didn't know about?
