I think we made that a bit trickier than we needed to, I'm not sure the wingers keeping width works as well when we're so defensive in the middle.

That was fine. Draw was about right, given how soft the pen was. Didn't look like conceding otherwise or scoring ourselves.
I was a bit disappointed by some of the poor progressive passing but it also looked like we were resting in possession and not committing much forward. Fair enough given the schedule and injuries.
Calafiori will quickly become a favourite. He's got a bit of Robert Pires about him. A classic swashbuckler, which is confusing as he's nominally a left back.

Yeah, not a brilliant game but happy with a draw. It's hard to know if it's a good result in this format. The old adage of "win your homes, draw your aways" was usually good enough to top the group but god knows now.

Jover, the set piece coach gets a lot of press but there does seem to be a clever set piece every 4/5 games. Just needed a better Saka delivery and Trossard was clear through.
That’s on top of the usual back post corner routine that is so consistently well executed.
He would have killed it as a Stoke/Bolton esque manager back in the day. He’d have Robert Huth as prem top scorer.

Timber off is a bit of a blow.
Great first half. Couldn't ask for much more. I'm just very wary that they have plenty of players capable of a killer through ball or smashing a shot into the corner of the goal.
No penalties please guys. Make them really earn anything they get.
