The other game is a bit more entertaining. Four penalties in the first half, one for Sevilla and three for Salzburg. It’s 1-1. Not sure I’ve ever know four penalties in a half before.

Why would you go 5-3-1 at the start of the second half? All that does in overrun our midfield and invite pressure?

Awful game. So many terrible performances. Donny making not attempt to get regular starts. Sancho looking like a worse Dan James before being understandably subbed.
Second half was right out of the Europa League 16/17 playbook. Defend for away from home draws. Didn't work. No idea if Young Boys are actually good, but they looked good. Maguire bullied all game. Pogba farting about and giving pos away for free.
Lazy tackle for the red too. Useless.

Pretty confident you'll still comfortably qualify. I'd be more annoyed at potentially squandering those first feelings of optimism and excitement following the weekend/Ronaldo's arrival on a game that should have been easily negotiated.

The red card just turned the game around (as if it wasn't obvious). Not a single shot from us in the second half, 69% possession from them, they just made the extra man count. I'm more disappointed we held out for 50+ mins with 10 men and lost it all in the end due to a stupid mistake.
Think we'll still be ok to qualify, christ I would like to think so anyway. Playing Young Boys at home is the last game, would like to get our revenge on them then.

Ok, it was a shit result but Ole getting the level of abuse he seems to be off the back of it is a bit ridiculous.
Yea I would have expected us to carry a bit more threat after the sending off but really should have held on for the draw but for a terrible decision from Jesse.
It's disappointing but it's a bit of a freak game. The crowd were incredible as well tbf. I'll judge the campaign more harshly if we don't recover but we can still quite easily recover by winning a few games.
Edit; in general the level of reactionary analysis is just incredible, nobody is permitted to ever think there's just some days that don't go your way. It's cruising or a crisis for most.
Even Sancho getting sone pelters, again ridiculous, clearly only taken off because of the situation.

Agreed, it's so early in the season as well. We could have managed the game better but they were really spurred on by the sending off and scored from the one chance they created and a brain fart from Lingard.
For all the possession they were just taking pots shots from long range.
