Yeah, at my local delivery depot since the early hours of this morning, so can't see why it won't arrive on time.
I'm still planning on staying strong and finishing Horizon first... Yep. Definitely going to happen that way!

I had a go with prisoner, tutorial mini boss was mega weak to magic and easy.
however, the golden horseback fucker massacred me when I got outside.
Think I'll try a few other classes and see how they feel before proceeding.

The jumping into pit is the tutorial area Yep, I know. I went back and did it after a little wandering outside. A much more welcoming introduction. |

Initially feels great but frame rate pretty iffy when moving the camera outside. Hope we get some improvements there.

By no means an expert, but I thought I'd mention a few early game things, spoilered where necessary. Regarding the quick pouch, open the menu, highlight the slot you want and press triangle (Y on Xbox I guess). The UI calls it 'switch' - I guess they did it this way because you can use items directly from this screen. You can then select the item you want from the inventory. In game, when you hold triangle you will see a UI pop-up in the bottom left corresponding to the d-pad. Ashes of War - this needs an early game item that is incredibly easy to miss. It is located In the same enemy camp that has the first map fragment. For detailed instructions Follow the critical path from the beginning; from the Church (I recommend buying the Crafting Kit btw) go through the forest, over the hill to the camp. There are a lot of enemies, have fun... you are looking for a stone staircase in the ground that leads to a chest There are certain abilities that are given to you by NPCs; I wouldn't even mention levelling/Torrent except I know Jeff from Giant Bomb managed to miss it and was wandering for hours unable to level up  I'm not 100% clear whether these encounters are linked to specific Sites of Grace, or how many times you've rested, but you seem to get the Horse from the Site of Grace just above the camp with the map fragment, just before the Archway leading up the hill The ability to use Spirit Summons I got when I teleported back to the Church of Elleh to visit Kale . That might happen anywhere, not sure. I think it is pretty easy to miss important stuff, because this game is mental. Anyway apologies for the shit show of a post, hope I haven't messed anything up or stepped on any toes. I can edit or delete anything if deemed too much. |

One thing- on the initial boss-you-lose-to fight and the tutorial mini boss, I was trying the old iframes roll toward attacks business. Got hit a lot. Not sure if it’s timing or a poor tactic in this. The dodge button is also the sprint button, so dodge only activates when you release it; maybe it's that? I definitely had issues early on too.
Went Astrologer; bit awkward swapping out the magic and melee attacks under pressure but not so bad so far.
Vandelay Sorry to hear about the performance issues. I have only seen a bit of slowdown when walking through foliage, it's consistent and pretty offputting but not a gamebreaker so far - hopefully it stays that way. |

Well, I got up at 4 this morning thinking I'd get a couple of hours in before work and here I am still, completely hooked. I'm pretty much at the end of where I got to with the beta...oh hi Margit! Let's see if I can beat the fucker this time. There may be summoning ahead. Loving it, including some of the random shit I was /not/ expecting after doing the beta e.g. getting teleported to a completely random and tough as nails dungeon when I opened a chest at Dragon-Burnt Ruins |

Did any of you kill the intro boss? 3600 runes and sole items might make it worth for me to attempt a couple of times. I dont spent much timen in character create anyways.

I didn't, but my magic dealt him a reasonable bit of damage. Didn't strike me as one of those practically impossible "you will die here" bosses like the guy at the start of Sekiro.

Just found another map piece and seems safe to say this is FUCKING HUGE
Some of the enemy designs are fantastic. Met some really evil casters and some evil little gits* in the bushes just now
*backstab these for reasons

neems Thanks!! I totally missed that staircase in the first camp and I'm not sure I would have bothered looking in it again. Found staircases in two other camps mind you so maybe I would have noticed, but that's very handy. I eveen purchased the clue from santa kale, and never twigged. Duh.

Is there human/hollow in this and some sort of humanity, embers mechanic or is it different this time?
What I’m asking, is can you be invaded at any time or is there a way to swerve it if it’s not your bag?

@wuntyate The other one is covered in my post as well (Spirit Summons). Not 100% sure what triggers it though.
I think maybe some events are triggered by resting, and a lot of the more experienced players just activate new sites and move on, to avoid respawning enemies.
