I think the most annoying enemies are the prawns who do what ever range attack it does that almost never misses you and one shots you if there’s 2 or 3 prawns doing the move.

Strutted into the dlc with my mega STR giant crusher/fingerprint shield elden lord expecting to layeth the smackdown. Now slinking off with my tail between my legs.
Not played for ages so going to reorient myself with another character in the base game for a bit. Got a fresh L30 to muck around on.
It looks stunning tho.

Okay, so I found an area - a pretty obvious one - I hadn't been to and it leads me to Fog Rift Catacombs.
Question: how do you make the worst mob of the main game even more irritating?
Answer: give them a pogo stick and / or cannon!

I think Jambo mentioned this earlier, but it's very fucking dark in a lot of places isn't it. It's beautiful for the most part, but I'd love to see more of it From!

Answer: give them a pogo stick and / or cannon! They are fucking annoying indeed. This is the place where I thought I'd finished and hadn't, I thought I'd found a natural (if underwhelming end) but no, just missed the not obvious path to progress further.

Yeah, I'm done with it for the night. Too frustrated. Not just because of the little gits but also I'm just fed up with bumping up against cliffs and finding no routes through even when a map marker seems close. It's sapping some of the joy of exploration for me, something I adore about the game.

Finally dipped my toe in the Shadow Realm myself now that COVID appears to have mostly sodded off (knock on wood)! First order of business: a relatively uneventful run (well, gallop) through a path that bypasses Rellana's castle through a couple spirit spring jumps and a different small fort, past one of those cauldron hulks, a few dozen other assorted enemies and a fucking dragon in an effort to acquire the Monk's Missive before anything else. Had to park it there for now, but sometimes the best-laid plans actually work and I've got my target for later... Plus it seems I can access said spoilered boss through the caretaker's entrance rather than go through the dungeon! (not that I'll manage much of anything with 1 and 0 in DLC upgrades, but the option is there )

FlexibleFeline - I hear you and in a similar position, looked up some of the areas. There’s some decent guides out there and I know I’d never have found some of them, so it’s good.

I'm back in haligtree as I want the damage reduction trinket, it's a complete walk in the park compared to most of the dlc 😂

I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a nerf patch soonish. Done two main bosses and my mimic tear has done them pretty much all by himself. Little hero that’s saved me a few hours grief but it’s odd just standing there and seeing him carve them up.

A nerf of what? Mimic?

A rebalancing at least, sorry, it’s seems a bit over powered at the moment.

It's the only way that half the player base can kill anything so I think it's unlikely.

So far my play through has been me exploring solo and then when I get to a named boss I just summon my mimic and let him off the leash and watch. There have been a hand full of bosses where I actually had to do some leg work to keep him alive but generally he is my security guard.

I've just seen on Reddit that the blessing of Marika potion heals the mimic back to full health. Can't confirm as I haven't tried it.

That Ghostflame Dragon fight is getting on my tits. Seemed like a cool concept initially, a Radahn style group battle against a dragon. In practice though it is infuriating. You seem to cause a huge amount of agro on the grunts that are swarming the dragon. They also have lots of area of effect attacks, so going anywhere near the dragon for most of the time they are around is a death sentence. You can sneak in the odd attack, but the best approach seems to be to just sit back and wait the eternity it takes for the dragon to kill them, whilst neither seem to be doing much damage to each other. Defeats the purpose of what seemed like it would be an epic battle Giving up on this fight and going to explore the castle the other side of it.

It should, as the Mimic has the same equipment and load out as the player; so they can use it to heal. My mimic is at +6 and I’m not finding many upgrades. It’s definitely not been my experience that I can leave it to handle bosses. It’s very useful, but bosses in this are fast, aggressive, tanky and pretty relentless. My 2p

I’ll eat my words I am sure, but so far I am pretty much steamrolling everything in the DLC. I am finding it considerably easier than basically anything in the entire last third of the main game. I am beating bosses at the first or second try, which is unheard of for me.
Maybe I am just overleveled, I went into the DLC at 153 or so.

Is there more than one dragon with this name as I killed one yesterday at a lake alone.

That certainly gives me hope, I'm at 256 because I wanted to have every stat decently high to try out the new toys (and lose the Soreseals in the process)

Which bosses have you killed Lou? Divine Beast Dancing Lion, Rellana, Golden Hippo. A couple of dragons as well as „surprise“ bosses Early days of course, but I am also rarely dying in between. And I am really. It good at these games. At all.

Full Lionel‘s set, Ruin‘s Greatsword, some sort of Greatshield (forgot the name), mimic tear. Not fatrolling due to silly amounts of endurance. i am basically facetanking/guard countering everything. Even the knights with the big hammers just get smacked around/intertupted.

Ahh, turtle build. That got me through all the dark souls games!
I should probably go back to it as I'm not the best at rolling.
