Getting off the horse and switching on my lamp took me far too long to remember how to do it (and by remember I mean Google it).

Apparently I've got over 250 hours in ER. Yet could I remember how to dismount the stupid pony? Could I fuck. Oh, god I had to come back to NG+1 character to do Mohg and for the life of me I couldn't remember how to dismount while running.

Mimic got nerfed ages ago so it's not quite the god like being that some people will remember it being.

That's a good point. What's the meta weapon now? I was a RoB enjoyer.

Oh God, we're all in the same dismount boat, to coin a phrase.
I still don't.

I'm pretty sure I only ever played with post-nerf Mimic and it still felt pretty brutal tbh Not many complaining about the RoB nerf either so surely it can't be too bad Bongo Heracles

OK, so we're all out of date aren't we.
What's the go to now then? Weapon and summon?

Also apparently the preload is only for PS, us Xbox and/or PC plebs have to do it the hard way

I have been tearing it up using the Sacred Relic sword (using the rememberance from Elden Beast). The weapon art on it sends out a very large holy wave that deals a lot of damage.

Yeah one of my chaps has that but she's at the end of NG++ and I don't know if I want to venture in to the DLC knowing that it'll be harder than ever. Barry is going in dual wielding Rivers of Blood and Malenia's sword though, so he's going to have a great time.

Hmm, fuck knows what to use then! I know I haven't got anything that gets close to the rob+10 damage that I am currently using so it's sounding like I might need to do some serious hunting for something

Having just finished my first play through the Mimic still seemed pretty powerful! Helped me through most bosses with a few exceptions towards the end. Tiche was also pretty handy. They must have been massively overpowered originally!
Likewise Moonveil was still stopping most regular enemies (excluding the last couple of areas with the fucking giants).
Trying to resist hitting NG+ as if I pick up the DLC any time soon I'll regret having to fight my way back through half the game..
Edit: actually I think I cheesed Mohg with the comet spell and the infinite FP potion so maybe the mimic was just a distraction

These are the summons that are still great:
Mimic Tear(dependent on your own build), Black Knife Tiche(slower bleed proc now), Latenna the Albinauric(low health but great if you aggro the boss), Banished Knight Oleg, Lhutel the Headless, Omenkiller Rollo (great stun build up capability)

The great shield summon is pretty epic just for staying alive for ages to consistently get aggro for you. Only draw back is very hulk smash bosses seem to kill them quickly.

FWIW I've been double weilding fully upgraded Moonveil and +10 Meteorite Ore Katana and the Glinstone Staff as backup and I've been wrecking stuff.

One thing I did get reminded of when using the weapon art on the likes of RoB or Malenia's sword's waterfowl dance is that you can spam it to chain the WA into a huge combo. I was only pressing it once and then the boy very kindly pointed out to spam L2 and it goes on for ages. Waterfowl Dance in particular utterly destroys shit.

RoB is still really good, it's just not the 100% auto-win button that it was. Blasphemous Blade, Great Stars, Fallingstar Beast Jaw, Moonveil, Darkmoon Greatsword and Godskin Peeler are my besties though.

Ah yeah, that WA is brutal
Mohg's spear (forget the name) was good fun. If bleed is still solid I might start out with that

I did a run with Sword of Night and Flame recently and it's not bad, but for the stat investment it really should be a lot better imho. Biggest problem is the 'magical laser beam' has had its range nerfed to the point that you have to be really quite close for it to hit and the wind-up takes bloody ages. Half the time I'd get interrupted trying to get the beam off.

Blasphemous Blade is already considered one of the most broken weapons, but I believe if Mimic Tear uses it it gets the HP regen too. Which if true is just utterly bonkers. Unfortunately, Mohg has 80% fire resist :/

To be fair (and at the risk of becoming tiresome by repeating myself), the Elden Slug has 80% Holy Resist, it still hates bubble baths as much as most bosses

If memory serves I have the super-long katana from one of the invader quest lines as my main, with ROB in my off hand, specced into Arcane. I always start with the scarlet rot dragon art.
I can also dual wield Radagon's Hammer for comedy value.

Look at this f’ing consistency Now I love From software as much as the rest of you but that list misses out all the games released since Demon's Souls that weren't popular. Steel Battalion: Heavy Armour in 2010 getting 38% in Metacritic being the biggest dud. Though if you count the Miyazaki directed games then you have great consistency to be fair, with the exception of Deracine and its 'mere' 68%.
