My son is currently playing DS3 and not enjoying it much after sekiro. I'm trying to explain he needs to adjust his approach a bit with the combat as he is attempting to go toe to toe with the bosses. He doesn't realise all souls bosses you beat by just going behind their butts and hitting them.
Ha, funny as my son is playing Sekiro and wasn't getting on with it as it was too different to DS3. He's getting there though and seems to have found his stride so he's enjoying it. Killed Lady Butterfly last night and then managed the Ashina Elite sword prick after a few goes. Considering I could only defeat Butterfly by cheesing her, he's better than me already. |

Yeah the flow is sooooo different so for the kids going from one to the other must be hard to adjust. I mean just the stamina bar is such a huge change to how you have to manage a fight. He was definitely beating bosses quicker than me for first run on sekiro. Like you said I'd cheese several bosses first run but he goes toe to toe with them all. Guardian ape is the perfect example, on my first run I beat it very slowly using a lot of running around the large area. He just stood there mugging the ape right off deflecting everything.

Ha ha yeah mine's the same. His reflexes are impressive, just standing there deflecting the shit out of everything. Because of him I'm going to start another playthrough, so you better give me your tips!

I just read the article. I'm calling it! It will be the easiest from software game. Just the acknowledgement that I've seen from FROM in other interviews that many players found sekiro too hard (pussies) makes me think it will be easier. Not easy of course, no chance but easier. Still can't wait. God it's still nearly six months out.  |

From reading the writeup on EG it doesn't sound like the game is easier so much as they've built a traditional From game, and *then* bolted on a bunch of additional content that's not quite so punishing. So yeah - technically - an easier game. But sounds more like two games in one, with one of 'em caving your skull in and the other one merely crushing your limbs.  |

Actually - the overriding image in my mind when they talk about roaming bosses, legacy dungeons, and field dungeons is Destiny. World encounters, Strikes, and Raids - each escalating in difficulty.

I believe From have advanced code that can detect if a player is Quaddy and switch fall damage back on.

Let's hope From come to their senses and make sure you can't be leaping from battlements or down into canyons (or just generally tripping over to your doom) like some Marvel superhero. I'd also like some odds on you being the first to be killed by a pot monster quad 😁 |
