 I would say Tesco do pretty good socks. Plus you can always get some nice snacks alongside your sock purchase. |

I wear white socks occasionally, but it all depends on which trainers I have on as they need to compliment each other. I wouldn't be giving Mike Ashley any of my money though.
I generally only buy socks from Stance these days. They are really comfortable, have great designs (IMO) and they seem to last a really long time. Not the cheapest but I generally only get them in sales.
But October to February I'm generally in ski socks, at least around the house.
(My pants are M&S cotton trunks)

Rubbish with proper boots, though. Went through all 8 heels in a few months. Heavy duty my arse. Dickies are my go to for ones that last. 3 for £5. Still going two years later, every time in boots. |

Cheap wool is a false economy, they’ll twist the yarn from short strands of hair so the threads will break apart without much convincing and leave you with holes in your clothes, pilling etc

A decent sock yarn will cost around £8 for a ball, which will yield two shortish socks. Then count on around nine hours to knit a pair, which is generous, and my time at mates’ rates of £100 an hour, and we’re looking at £908 + p&p for a pair of hand-knit merino socks. DM me if interested.

I think I'm quite boring as I only ever wear black socks, from M&S as I've done for the last 20 odd years. I did go a bit crazy and buy some striped coloured socks last summer and I'm so crazy I don't wear matching pairs.

Anything other than white socks with shorts are also unacceptable. Also, if your white socks are trainer liners that expose the ankle bone then you’re a cunt, and if you wear them like an American halfway up your calf then you’re also a cunt. If you put on sandals the white socks must first be removed. |

As much as I like Stance socks I find that they don’t last at all. Own at least 15 pairs as I always get them for birthday / Xmas and almost all have holes in them
One pair had a hole after just one wear. I keep them to just wear around the house as holes don’t matter. Two pairs of them are Seahawks designs so I might never chuck those away

My socks are either fairly thick walking socks, that I mainly use for walking as thin socks wear out far too quickly, or thinner socks that are often coloured or patterned. Patterns included Pacman, dinosaurs, Sonic the Hedgehog, foxes.
Never white.

I accidentally bought a multi-pack of socks which included a white pair a few years back.
I spent a year or so trying to work up the 'i don't care what other people think!' attitude needed to wear them outside, but I think in the end I gave up and threw them away.
I feel disappointed in myself.
