I've really been craving cigarettes over the last year or so. What I would give for one. I couldn't live with the guilt if I did though. Then again, I just want one. For old times sake. It will NEVER just be one.

Irresponsible post alert - I quit about 10 years ago, replaced it with vaping my face off all the time, and have had about three ‘one cigarettes’ over that time, generally at weddings or work dos.
The day after my chest will ALWAYS feel claggy though - when you’ve stopped being accustomed to tar, you’ll feel it.
Reckon if I didn’t have the vape to top up the nicotine I’d have been straight back on them though, if you’ve quit cold turkey I really wouldn’t risk that, plus think of your streak!
I sometimes still dream of smoking, I did last night. They are always really realistic.
In all totally not worth it but they do taste great and make you look cooler. Certainly cooler than an Elfbar anyway.

I'm trying to knock it on the head too.
I don't smoke unless I have a drink and I only have a drink once every 2-3 weeks. As soon as I've had a pint or two though I'm having a cig practically every hour. As you say, the morning after is rough for the chest and throat.
Need a backup vape or something.

I always enjoyed a cigarette after dinner with a cup of chai when I lived in Vietnam. However at the same time a pack of 20 cost 50p. Good but dangerous times.

I think I would have smoked a massive spliff drunk far too much blue powerade, played Half Life 2 into the early morning and then went to Virgin Megastore at opening to buy the Incredibles on dvd because I had drank too much powerade and couldn't sleep
(This actually happened btw)

It probably doesn’t help, trying to play video games at 5am, but my left eye has been struggling to focus all week whenever I do. I’ve never had a serious issue with my eyes or vision before, but on Wednesday I ended up with a banging headache that lasted all day. One of the worst I’ve ever had (in terms of pain).
Im hoping it’s just strained as time away from screens seems to help, but I’ve maybe managed 20-30 minutes gaming at the most these last two days. Tried 10 minutes of gaming this morning and immediately my eye starts to struggle. It takes a little while to recover, too. The focus comes back, but it feels a little sore.

i'm one for not taking any chances with eyeballs and would always suggest getting ye to an optometrist, stat
that said, given the forum demographic, is there a chance presbyopia is kicking in and some varifocal or reading specs are on your horizon? i've been resisting varifocals the last couple of checkups but i think i'm finally going to have to succumb

While I’m sad that summer is going away, the feeling of walking to work when it’s still a bit dark and then entering a nice coffee shop with some gentle amber lighting and the sounds and smells of coffee being made.. just lovely.

I keep losing my readers and have resorted to buying cheap ones off the shelf (Opulize ftw - really good). I then need my long distance ones for tv and reading so feels like I should just suck it up and admit defeat.

minimatt I’m going to see how it goes today with some eye drops, but otherwise the other half has suggested the same advice. It just feels like it’s come out of nowhere. I’ve head migraines before with that aura effect, but those are rare and usually triggered at random. Right now my vision is back to normal, but I guess eyes just don’t work predictably.

At the very least, get yourself to an opticians asap. They can spot a number of conditions that can be problematic and get you referred - quickly - to your local eye department.
Really don’t ignore eye concerns. I did and lost 40% vision in both eyes. You only have two of them and they’re not replaceable.
