The likes of Pulp Fiction, Res Dogs, Trainspotting etc is the next step up. Although he's only 14 so might give those a year or so. His attention span has improved since we banned tiktok and insta but he still only really wants to watch films he knows he can't/shouldn't.

For a while I was Les Dawson(‘s Creek) but I could found playing a game of “Never Have I Ever” which was a bit of a “Heartstopper”.
Maybe it was all just a Teenage Dream…

We have done a decent job of indoctrination imo. Both kids have seen all the 80s and 90s classics, boy is bang into his football etc. Only shame is music - the girl is a bit of a goth/rock chick so I don't worry about her. The boy though, all over rap and hip hop.l which is fine, just not my genre. Damn hippity-hop. It made me so happy when Smells like teen spirit started playing and my 5 year old girl shouted ‘yay I love this’. She likes NIN too. And George Ezra but that’s my wife’s fault. |
