To be honest, it's been so long that if I had you, and Channel 4 ran a documentary with Gordon Ramsay teaching me how to do the sex, I'd probably still end up slapping your neck and asking you what your mother's favourite colour is

Having become quite the accomplished chef* we need a spice rack. Searching around they all look old and boring whereas i am hip and young** and only set fire to myself ~10% of the time I try to weld anything. So made a spice rack. A certain purveyor of bird flu buckets use a blend of 11 herbs and spices so a rack that holds 12 bottles of chilli will be plenty (other herbs and spices are, apparently, also available) ![](https://i.imgur.com/TKqz9hi.jpeg) I now realise why people don't make spice racks out of steel plate. I also realise people have been making bells wrong all this time. Swap out Big Ben for this, use a bottle of oregano as a clapper, and you'll hear it in Calais. Still, looks pretty enough, and so long as nobody ever tries to cook anything, perfectly silent. Having figured out how to make it a little easier & a little smarter I'll make a few more to flog or - more likely - to dump on relatives at christmas. And I didn't set fire to myself! Did set fire to a magnetic welding clamp which for some reason has had a plastic wrapped core.* i can now cook toast and boil an egg ** my hip's playing up & young people need to get off my lawn

yeah going to put a couple of mm rubber on the underside to prevent it bouncing around on a hard worktop, hopefully that'll damp it a bit. individual shelves i might leave, not least because if it's all lined it precludes more interesting paint choices, maybe the inner edge of the rail bumpers
