Fair play wunty! Before I buy it, is it scary? Am I going to have to leave the light on all night if I read it at bedtime?

Can't say no for 82p. Just have to remember how to convert it from Kindle to a format I can read now. I really must write the steps down this time.

It's been lovely seeing everyone's creative endeavours here. Here's a canvas painting I've just done for my nephew.

I’m doing my first hour solo show currently, about the time I was stabbed dozens of times and other murders and misfortune. It’s got SOME comedy in it (honestly the stabbing is the fun part) but it’s mostly a storytelling / we all learned something today speech. I’ve sold fuck all tickets as you’d expect and performed the show to one person last night. Good learning experience though. melbournefringe.com.au/event/once-more-with-failing/

I'm quite the poet.
My composition "The man from Nantucket" was well recieved in East Croydon literary circles.

Every Wednesday I write a 100 word story for giggles and the shits. There's a bunch of us that use a photo prompt and then scribble down a quick story. I find it a fun process and perhaps you'll like to read (or listen - I often record them as well), or even just pull it apart and laugh at the twat who thinks he might get a thumbs up or two. Anyway, here's this week's story. meyoucoffee.com/2023/07/19/duck-and-plum-sauce/

I wrote some short horror stories, half a novel and a first draft of another novel over lockdown. Never did anything with them.

I've been keeping up with my flash fiction writing over the last few weeks and am really quite enjoying the process of writing, recording and publishing a 1 minute story in half an hour. Rather satisfying. I wish I could apply this dedication to my actual work. Anyone here's the audio link for this week's story. A little of piste for me, it's a humour free zone for once! soundcloud.com/mrbinks/mary-and-the-wagon

for the last couple of years i've been spamming up the DIY thread with etsy bollocks but figure I should move some stuff over here - the bits that are less about bleeding radiators, more dicking about making pretty things for a cat who doesn't fucking appreciate it.
i don't know where everyone else stores their cat, if not the breadbin? anyway, links above give the rundown and build process if you're interested. made some improvements and made a bunch more of them:
improvements over the last version: "luxury" (carpet tile) lining for extra snuggle, and/or scratches. bed sits lower in the barrel for deeper snuggle & head room (original version had the bed board higher to create space for toys underneath but cats are even worse than toddlers at cleaning up their toys). new leg design easier to balance and sits the barrel closer to the floor.
a couple not pictured have already gone to friends, we'll probably keep one and the other two will go to the shelter or for the cats protection raffle
but not before I hack out the bed support stays and replace the bed with a seat pad/cushion from dunelm or something - i'm not sure why I kept on trying to put a flat bed in a rounded barrel, the bed padding (old camping mat mounted on plywood, white cotton lining from fabric shop's remnants bin, some kids paid attention in needlework lessons but i own a staple gun) creates a valley where the bed meets the frame. honestly it's a whole lot of work for something that doesn't look quite right & I've never been happy with. plus I think furry critters would prefer the radius of the barrel base when curled up in/on an off the shelf cushion
if future version, thinking to partially line the outside top with carpet too, for extra climbing/scratching/zooming opportunities, and possibly a more al-fresco version with the sides ending about a third of the way up - would need to test strength but might look neat and lessen the chonk nature of this iteration
