I'm not hugely up on the lore but my understanding (or take) is that the player is being manipulated into extending Gwyn's legacy, that's all. The curse returns after a while so it's futile anyway, you're just putting off the Age of Dark because Gwyn was scared of it. Hardly makes you a hero - just a bit part in Gwyn's story

If it was just Dark Souls 1 I'd probably link the fire in my first playthrough as well, but knowing what we do from later games... Yeah, I'm going to the Painted World and seeing what happens, see you around  Then again I'm also the type not to kill Priscilla even if it means missing out on the cool scythe, so someone more bloodthirsty might not have that option... |

Well these seem like deep seeded problems that are probably more within the scope of a therapist than a discussion about the merits over which ending is preferable in the video game Dark Souls

Uhm, maybe I'll just have a quick run of this again.
When I played the DLC, I used my NG+9 player because I'm an idiot, and it went about as well as you'd expect. I had to kite Manus from outside the fog door.
Maybe I should get a taste of power this time. And playing on Series S is always nice. Blighttown won't run like crap, for once.
Now the question is... how viable is an offensive miracle build here? I kinda don't wanna do the usual axe strength build.

Yeah I'm not sure it's the easiest. Some the decent miracles are late on and cost a lot.
Ever done a black Knight halberd run? They're fun. Got one on the go at the minute
Or occult / chaos with a bit of dex? That's quite an unusual one but can be all sorts of fun. Chaos shovels +5 are legendary.
