I don't even know what this is. I saw some white text scrawled on the floor but I did not accept the invitation to invade.

That's just orange-flavored co-op.

Orange text is bullshit Orange text is practically the Souls version of memes at this point. Anything I've found scrawled by an actual player is either an in-joke or trolling. Who can forget the classics such as amazing chest ahead, or try rear

There’s nearly always one near the bonfire at the undead burg But you have to be in NG+ before you're able to get gravelorded, so for a first-time player it's not relevant.

I don’t think that’s correct. I’m in NG and saw the sign and invaded someone just 2 days ago

From what I know, it's only NG+ where the red enemies appear. You can stil gravelord in NG at low level. I've noticed GL signs down in Undead Burg on a NG playthrough before now.

In fact ever since the remaster came out, I've never seen so much gravelording going on in ANY new game cycle, including the first.

Yeah that’s where the GL sign was when I used it the other day. He was quite a disrespectful gravelorder too. Healed a bunch straight away I moved away so he could get rid of the enemies in the way of the duel, once they’d gone I did a gesture and he immediately backstabbed me. I was definitely too nice 😊

Everyone heals now. It's ridiculous. I was fighting off invaders and watchdogs in the swamp in DS3 the other day and they were all healing like crazy.
Still kicked their arses mind you.

I was definitely too nice 😊 Huh, interesting. I can't remember ever seeing gravelord signs in NG, but I guess it's an interesting way to bait invaders to you. The idea that healing is disrespectful can't die soon enough. If you want honorable duels, you can put down a red sign or a dragon eye sign. If you're invading, even via a gravelord sign, honor duels are off the table and you better use every tool at your disposal to win. This does not equate disrespect; you can bow to your opponent after you've killed them. The last time I seriously engaged with DS1 PvP I joined the forest hunters because I wanted to get in some messy, chaotic group fights, but all the other chumps I was invading with insisted on only fighting the host one at a time. Play dirty, goddamn it! That's what this forest is for! It makes even less sense in DS3 because hosts have 30% more HP. All summons and invaders have unembered HP. This is all fine and dandy when you have someone hosting a fight club but there's no such thing as a fair duel between an evenly skilled host and invader. Chug, use estus charms, aggro the enemies, lay in ambush, and put the hurt on them. 1v1 duels belong in the arena.

The only duel I ever had that I didn't lose was when the guy I invaded apparently was so scared he jumped into the river instead of fighting me.

Turn up in the Giant Dad outfit, regardless of build, people hurl themselves off ledges all the time. If they don't start running chuck your Dark Bead gear on and laugh in their stupid dying face.

Can’t agree with the healing thing. Who could be be arsed fighting someone who is going to heal 100+ times?

If you're letting them heal unpunished, you're not aggressive enough. If your opponent tries to heal without creating enough distance between the two of you, that's a free backstab for you. Keep that pressure on and you'll kill them long before they run out of heals.
Of course, you can forego healing and hope your opponent does the same, in case both of you want to keep it short. But don't blame them if they chug. If invasions were intended to be no-healing they would have disabled your estus.

Hey has anyone on here tried the Convergence mod for DS3 yet? I've just started a playthrough just now, it seems to be a pretty fresh experience. It's nails hard, items and magic are all different. I've made it past the first boss and it was a stiff challenge.

I'll deffo look up Daughters of Ash. Is it for DS remastered or Prepare to Die edition? Intrigued.

I bought and downloaded DS3 last night just before I went to bed. Thought I'd have a cheeky 5 minutes or so to see what's what. Pulled some fucking sword out of the ground which pissed off a big guy 2 minutes into the game and got fucked up.

I managed to get about halfway through the Depths when I played on PS3 about ten years ago, I died and then my PS3 broke (the yellow light thing if anyone remembers that) so never went back to it.
Literally just now, I have beaten the Gaping Dragon first time! So I've officially made it further than I ever had before. What a moment this is for me!
I'm on the Pyromancer build, actually very rarely using magic at all and just hammering cunts with the Drake Sword. Blighttown next, scared.
I'm level 34 though, did a bit of grinding early on so got around 20 for all of vitality, endurance and dexterity which I believe are the ones to focus on for Pyro?
