I only read about the fake Paul McCartney theory a year or so ago. Loads of people still believe it.. So you're one of those who don't believe he went to the Moon in 69'. Everyone knows that is a lie. He was there in the late fifties.

It was Marc Almond for me and if I recall correctly from the last time this came up, on Eurogamer, Wrinkly said George Formby. Ah yes - reminded me of our one about Marc Almond, that they operated on him and found {some number} gallons of animal sperm in his stomach. Around the same time of the Richard Gere thing iirc. How on earth did these things happen pre internet? Similarly there's the "Rod Stewart blew so many guys he needed a stomach pump" story.

These rumours are really going to give away how old each of us is. It was Marilyn Manson rib removal for me.
And Richard Gere doing a Lemmywinks.

Really pushing ‘celebrity’ there.
Not as much as the, 'Kate's uncle joins Celebrity Big Brother' headline that's on the BBC News front page right now.

Yeah, that is the Marc Almond story. Rod Stewart is a fanny rat to the point that he has said 'to save me from another divorce, I'm just going to find a woman I don't like and buy her a house'

That said, there are plenty of stories about David Bowie and Mick Jagger going at it and they aren't exactly known for being shy with the ladies. It was a wild time.

And everyone else in the house. Who the fuck are these people? Still, I'm all for it if it means I get to play on my xbox while Mrs Hermit is watching it.

Surprised he needed the rib tbh. Guy looks like you could fold him up and put him in your top pocket.

If every generation gets its own rib removal celebrity, who's shoving a hamster up their arse Richard Gere-style* at the moment?
*As a spin-off of this rumour, I once heard it was started by Sylvester Stallone, who really didn't like Gere because they were in a film together once and Gere spilt mayo on his trousers or something.

I flicked the channel out of curiosity and saw Levi Roots entering and doing the Reggae Reggae Sauce song and all I could think of was Lionel Blair on the Extras Christmas Special when Ricky Gervais is in the house. Tapdancing and longing for death.

Michael Jackson was the rib removal one in my day. I think I was around when it fazed into Marilyn Manson because you'd hear both versions

I had him all lined up for a lovely pair then he came in to choose the style while I was off and a colleague, who never says no to any wacky ideas, let him run away with some god awful two tone quilted ostrich abominations. Luckily I left before I had to try those on him

I'm surprised he was 'only' 68. Dragonball feels like its been around since the dawn of time.
But, yeah, its hard to overstate how much of an impact this guy has had. He is pretty much the father of modern anime/manga.

Absolutely gutted. Guy created one of my favourite things ever.
Previously only Joe Strummer and Toots Hibbert ever got an audible from me when reading about a death.
