Yu-Gi-Oh manga creator Kazuki Takahashi has apparently been found dead off the coast of Nago City, Okinawa. Diving accident, it seems. He was 60 years old.
I know, not the celebrity you'd typically see in this forum, but hey.

If you've never seen Thief, do yourself a quaver and watch it. Caan is magnificent in it and I'd make a strong case for it being Michael Mann's best film too.
Also Karel Reisz's The Gambler has an electric Caan performance, really underrated, moody film. Shits all over the Marky Mark 'remake'.
And of course, there will be Rollerball.

I'd also like to recommend a mostly forgotten 90s thriller called Flesh and Bone with Caan and Dennis Quaid. It's unjustly obscure and a really great neo-noir from when Hollywood still made them. Caan is deliciously nasty in it.

Not really a "celebrity" as such, but former Japanese PM Shinzo Abe was just shot during a speech. Not looking good!

Not really "dead" as such either

Kind of sounds like he is but they just haven't announced it yet. No vital signs after a shotgun blast to the back sounds pretty final.
/edit Oh, hadn't seen the recent updates.

Anyone else see a “Ringo Starr Dies” headline on Bing an hour or so ago?
It seems to have disappeared now.

Not really "dead" as such either I thought I'd do the classic thing and get in there first. (though he apparently showed 'no signs of life' at the scene, so pretty close)

Gregory Itzin.
Maybe not a household name, mostly played guest characters in shows including several appearance in a few of the 90's Star Treks.
I was mostly a fan of his appearance in 24 though, where he played first appeared as Vice President Logan in season 4, then as President Logan (and main antagonist) in Season 5 of 24 (i.e the best series of 24). He was great in that role.
74 years old, apparently.

Same. Paulie was funny and menacing at the same time, the kind of character you’d wish was your friend. I hope he catches some good rays up there.

the mix up on the phone with Tony re the Russian and then Paulie trying to explain to Christopher will always make me smile, as does the entire Pine Barrens episode.
