You would have imagined Fletcher would have been the last of Depeche Mode to go, not the first. The went downhill after Alan Wilder left but for 11 years they really were fantastic. Especially the run of Black Celebration, Music for the Masses, Violator then Songs of Faith and Devotion. That's a fairly spectacular series of albums. You're not wrong. Brilliant albums. Will be playing in honour today. |

Daaaaaaaamn, I used to love his art. Still do, really. Jeph Loeb owes his career to him, because the stories themselves were nothing special, just standard "let's see how much of the rogues gallery we can shoehorn in." But Sale's art kept it interesting.

I didn't mind the Loeb stories, and quite enjoyed them- the art definitely helped, but they certainly weren't as excellent as I was lead to believe before I bought them.
