Nah don't worry about it, go for it. I was overdoing it daily and only doing front crawl. I've never been fitter! At one point my resting heartrate was 36. It's excellent for your overall fitness Just a little word of advice. My daughter does club swimming and trains for about 2 hours every day (she'll be at Counties in 2 weeks). They do massive front-crawl sets against tough times but her coach (who used to be the Team GB swim coach in early 2000s) always throws in back stroke sets either in between or at the end. He said it's very important as it opens the shoulders and prevents injury.

I haven't been since covid, Feb 2020! Need to go back but it's a pain in the arse to fit into my life now. I'm also still scared of getting covid from the water which is totally irrational as I've been taking my son to swimming lessons since September 21!

Day two of the post-Xmas binge workout was hard. Muscles still ache from the first one, and my shoulder still hurts from falling on the ice weeks ago.
I've gotten noticeably stronger at some things like rows, but I still find curls really hard. But taking the time to adjust the weights between sets gives me a bit of rest and lets me drink some water, so I'm slowly finding out where I can push myself a bit further.
I'm also trying to make sure the last set of any exercise is the highest weight. It's fewer reps so I figure fuck it, last few, big push. Not sure if it'll make any difference...
Also my left arm is noticeably weaker than my right. Stupid question but how do I even them out?

Chest and triceps today. Can hardly lift my arms now.
Stepped up the weight quite a lot and my form suffered for the last few reps, but I definitely found the point of failure.

I quite like that feeling where you know you've knackered yourself. I did way too many squats yesterday and can really feel it today. Not too heavy but just shitloads of reps. In total the cumulative weight was 20 tons :/

Currently, struggling to stand/sit today without making noises. Not just due to my age, but maybe got a bit carried away with squats & deadifts yesterday. Also did dips & barbell ohp. My shoulders do not like me either.

I've mostly just been zone2'ing it for 45min to an hour a couple of times a week indoors just now. May do Tour de zwift to mix it up a bit from steady base stuff.
In my head I am effectively counting down to the warmer, drier weather & getting back outside.

I’ve hardly ridden since before last summer, strava automatically puts my run stats first now. Only did 3200km last year, year before that was fucked by covid, I’m fucking going for it this year.

I remember saying you don't stretch toof. If your lower back is killing it will absolutely be your hamstrings being tight. I need to do regular yoga on my legs when I'm doing a lot of miles or my back is fucked.

I did 10 mins of upper body exercise on Sunday for the first time in months and I can still barely move my arms.
It actually stopped me from going for a run yesterday cause I couldn't get down on my hands for the warm up!

Admittedly, after my Morton's neuroma 'fun' i run a *lot* less and only 5-8km at a time these days. Saturdays 5km was the first in a couple of months which is shameful compared to my 4-5x 10km a week in my running heyday.

Nah, never stretch. It’s always like this after a long break, takes a week or two to get the muscles used to it again. It only gets sore on the bike, not during the day, about 20 mins into a ride it’ll be rough for 10 minutes then fine after. Probably just a bit a sweet nerve damage

I've never been into pre-work stretching, either. More like rolling out of bed 2 minutes before a run.
I still don't stretch before weights etc. Warm downs a bit, sure.
Just to join the club, chest and triceps for me yesterday and the backs of my arms are fire.
