Great rant - wouldn't call it a 'highlight' in a series that contains SMB3, Super Mario World, Mario 64, Mario Galaxy and Mario Odyssey though.

Well when I say "highlight", I don't mean it's necessarily better than most--SMB3 already beat it--but that I think it's still an outstanding title in its own right that deserves a lot of love and attention. If only (but not only) for how unique it is.

Wasn't originally developed as a Mario game, was it? That's why I've tended to ignore it

Literally every single time this week I've tried to play one game of marvel snap on a work break I've been interrupted midway through, either by a phone call from a client or some delivery that needs a forklift driver for. That's the reason my ranking has plumetted, honest.

I just realised why it's called Marvel Snap.
I'm slow.

I still don't know why it's called that.
I try shouting "SNAP!" when the opponent plays the same card as me but nothing happens...

That's why I've tended to ignore it Yeah but it made by the same team that made SMB1, supervised by Miyamoto, with music by Koji Kondo etc. Doki Doki Panic's close proximity to Mario games was part of the reason why it was chosen as the basis for western SMB2. It's also a little more than just a reskin, most notably they added the ability to run which drastically changes gameplay.

My cousin has got wind I'm visiting other cousins in Birmingham this weekend and has asked to tag along for the trip there/back. He's my cousin and I love him but he's usually on coke most of the time - each to their own and all that but a 2 hour car journey with him talking 100mph non-stop whilst off his tits isn't a trip I'm looking forward to much anymore

Just say there's no room in the car and if he asks how come, just start crying.

I should've just told him I was getting the train - he's too tight to stump up for a ticket.

He'd have asked you to pay.
Charge him an extortionate amount of petrol money (not that I advocate this usually but needs must...)

Nah, can't charge him - I was going on the trip anyway.
I'll just have to strip search him as I'm not having it in the car.

When you go to pick him up wait until he gets his stuff loaded into the car and sits down beside you. Then, in an exasperated fashion, throw your hands up and declare that you've gone blind. Then divert his attention to something out the window, take the key from the ignition and place it in your pocket. When he turns back, add that your car appears to have mysteriously stopped working. Anything from this point on should be met with a confused scoff and a rueful grin. You might have to do this as long as it takes.
Guarantee it works. I did the same thing to my grandparents when they wanted me to take them to Lidl after my grandad had his hip op.

Just tell him. He can come, but if he's off his face, he'll get booted out at the first convenient stopping place.
Your car, your rules.

Go to collect him and gesture round to the driver's side, opening your door and apologising that every seat is full so he'll need to sit on your lap. At this point of course you'll be naked with a raging erection.
I've got loads of these life hacks. Wait til my book is out if you want more. I'm not giving them all away for free you know.

I’ve discovered a lump and want to make an appointment. Rang on Tuesday and everything had already been taken by 10AM. No surprise after a bank holiday. Just tried again, and it’s emergency appointments only. Anything else and you’re supposed to use the eConsult tool. I mean, I guess I could report it in at least, but without eyes/hands-on (ho-ho) it seems silly.

I would definitely call that an emergency. Definitely get it checked out mate.

I dunno how the eConsult thing works, but I'm assuming if you put in something that seems serious then it'll direct you to some kind of real person/appointment?

Well, ploughed through this morning and awaiting a return call from the GP. All the 'routine' appointments had been taken in 10 minutes. I've got another issue I'd like to talk to the doctor about, so I'll have to be on the ball Monday morning.

Cousin had to work so the journey worry was moot.
It was an incredible journey too - quite a daft thing to say about 90mins on the M1/M42 but compared to what it could have been it was top bollocks.
