Thanks guys. My brother’s sent some pictures over of the scene and its pretty grim with the amount of blood on the floor where she’s been lying. No skidmarks or signs that the car had tried an emergency stop before or after hitting her.

She’s awake but very banged up, cuts and bruises and road rash all over, stitches where she’d landed on her head, neck in a brace obviously.

She doesn’t have any memory of what happened at all. Very lucky that someone was out for a teatime dog walk and found her.

Not sure there’s any excuse for saying you didn’t see someone at 5:30 in the evening on a straight road. And absolutely no excuse for leaving her there.



Its a semi-rural area so I guess the Police’s best hope is a traffic light or garage or home cctv catching someone speeding away at the right time in the right direction but without knowing what it looked like it’s going to be tough. I hope they don’t give up on looking though.

Waiting for a transfer into Cardiff to be assessed for possible surgery by spinal injury specialists.

Sounds like while the initial shock was all the blood that that’s mostly from superficial injuries. Now all the concern is the fractured bone in her neck and related damage to her shoulder. Guessing she must’ve gone over the car or bonnet and landed on the side of head / shoulder given how and where the worst of it is.

Hopefully someone has spent the day with a real telltale heart situation on their driveway and turns themselves in out of guilt in the morning. You don’t hit a fully grown 36 yr old woman and not be aware of what you’ve done.

Latest update from my brother is she’ll be having an operation to stabilise the fracture in her neck tomorrow morning and they’re anticipating 6-8 weeks recovery for her concussion.

There’ll be rehab and she’ll not be permitted to drive for the next six months.

The operation is necessary to avoid the mobility her neck fracture causing any damage to her spinal cord.

Police are going to do a social media appeal and it’ll be in the local paper but they did say to my brother chances are fairly slim unless they or their friends/family grow a conscience.
