I am loving the genius idea of adapting 2 plant pots on top to collect the cores. Great idea.

Mine was similar to that but four prongs. And it would clog. Perhaps because it didn't have conical prongs.

My lawn is looking pretty peachy if I must say so myself. I get quite a lot of birds but otherwise it's mostly neighbours cats. They seem to like my garden the best and are there all day. I seem to not have so many slugs this years which is weird, maybe they will come later. And I have been working hard to remove snails every morning. imgur.com/a/87DeAby

Cheers. I'll pop over there to post some garden wildlife pics in a moment...
We had a swift/swallow box installed on the house recently, so fingers crossed we actually attract some. (it could take a few mating seasons apparently)

We had a buzzard perched on our fence at the weekend, I have never seen one up that close before.
Sadly, I had left my phone downstairs on the sofa and it didn't hang about too long when it saw us gawping out of the window at it.

Sadly, I had left my phone downstairs on the sofa and it didn't hang about too long when it saw us gawping out of the window at it. I've been considering the need for a camera with a decent zoom for those moments when a new bird appears on the feeders. I have/had a Canon bridge camera. I think that's the correct term. It has a 12x optical zoom. Not used it in years but after I got the feeders I dug it out and put batteries in. Annoyingly, some part of it is broke the sensor I think. It turns on and I can view pics on the memory card but it won't take a picture. I'm not sure I want to spank £200 on a new one.

Lack of cameras to hand is annoying. I spotted a fox trotting after a tiny roe deer on the university/hospital campus I work at on the way back to the car at the end of the day a few years ago. They both paused when realising people were near, but sadly when I went to reach for my phone to try to get a pic, it broke the spell and they both legged it and resumed their flight/chase. It's a movement that sets them off I guess:- I spotted a red deer drinking from a stream when out in the sticks on my bike once, but yet again, when I reached for the phone to access the camera, it noticed me and ran away. That was annoying as there was nice light and reflections from the stream etc. It would have made a great photo, yet all my dreams of a pivot to "nature photographer" fame turned to naught.

The robins that have been nesting in my shed have now fledged. Well, the two babies have. So now I have two little bundles of brown fluff bouncing around in the shed practicing flight and learning that they can't fly through glass. I've propped the door open to make life a bit easier for them.
I've never seen baby robins before. Think of a scruffy robin with no red chest and not much in the way of tail feathers.

The robins have laid more eggs and some more babies have hatched! Mrs Alastair could hear them cheeping, and the parents are back to nipping in and out with insects in their beaks.

If you felt like it, they like live mealworms from the pet shop. We had a nesting pair in an ornament out the back of our house many years ago, but the thing fell off its hook and the babies fell out. We put 3 back in but 1 didn't make it. We felt bad so I went to our local pet shop and got tubs of worms and left them nearby. The 3 survivors ate very well from that day onwards

A owl chased this guy into the garden, was a lucky escape. Never realised how big owls can be until you see one flying about.

I usually see field mice, foxes, hedgehog & the neighbour's cat with my wildlife camera. Never caught a badger before! We have a normal garden in a residential street in a small town. The nearest fields/woods are a few hundred metres away. It's sniffing about the new hedgehog house I put in. Edit I'm shit with links i.imgur.com/21ihNr0.mp4
