His or her name is Gus which is short for Snuffleupagus. There’s a big set about half a mile away. Pretty cool considering we’re 10 minutes walk from the town centre

Here is a super short clip of a red kite swooping down to grab some leftovers from our garden. Sorry about the state of it but a) it's winter and b) the foxes throw the cushions around. Also they stole one of my shoes I left by the back door. They're a lovable menace
Here the nonchalant fox just chilling on the garden furniture one evening, in advance of throwing it around the place

It's nice until it shits stinky gloopy poo everywhere.
I've cut my grass twice now.. first long cut, then a second medium cut. It's looking good! Better than this time last year. So hoping for a really good lawn this year (sorry for those less fortunate, but I've spent hours of weeding by hand in the thing, there's not a single weed. Just pure monoculture.)

So I had a fox that decided my garden was the best place to die last night. Spotted it about 6pm, spent about 2 hours trying to find someone who might help him but to no avail. Poor thing was terrified, we covered him with blankets and made comfortable. RSPCA didn't want to know, nor did the vets (they just pointed the finger at each other). Finally found someone who helps with wildlife who said that we did the best thing. He'd gone by 9pm. Now how the fuck do we get this thing out of our garden?! Going to shovel him in to a bin.bag shortly but would rather not leave him in the wheelie bin.

Umm, dunno. Circle of life type stuff says you need to leave him somewhere for scavengers and little creatures to have their fill...

I'd be semi tempted to just leave him in the garden and see how long it takes other besties to get through him, ha.

We had a dead pigeon a couple of weeks ago. I told Mrs Alastair not to worry too much as something would come and take it away. Within an hour we saw a fox carrying it off.

Saw one this morning. Another pigeon was taking a peck at the gizzards.
Savage.

On one of my walks through some areas no one else really goes there was a big old sheep corpse that had probably been there a few days as it really ponged. I went back every few weeks as I was trying to find foxes, but would pass this sheep and it was amazing how quickly it shrunk right down into nothing but bones.

My mum lives on the outskirts of town with a field right next to her garden. All sorts of wildlife come in to the garden including deers, foxes, ducks, woodpeckers etc. A deer died in her garden a few years back so we hauled the carcass into the field at the back. Within 2 days, that corpse had moved about 15 metres, had been picked apart by insects, foxes, birds. Within a week it was just bones and my mum kept the skull as a souvenir.

He's now in a bin bag. Can't leave him, the dog would probably try and eat it. Bit too far to dump in the woods/fields. Wheelie bin it is.

Good Friday, so you've got a dead fox in your bin till at least Tuesday...

Pretty sure council guidance is in a bin liner in the Wheelie bin.

Or you could have a go at stuffing him. Or making a fox rug. Think you can eat fox but they don't taste great.

My wife has a fox hat. Made from foxes shot by her family on their farm in South America...

My neighbour had a dead fox in the garden a few weeks ago, told the same by the council to put it in the wheelie bin. I just grinned and told him the last time it happened to me I lobbed it over the fence, then walked off
