It also doesn't outstay it's welcome and, despite it's premise, has a very clear way of going through the game that - although slightly intimidating at first - actually works incredibly well and you reach a point that you know exactly what you're doing next at every point, but you still have room to fuck about as much as you want. Just...fun.

I'm still enjoying it. Still working through the trophies.. Anyone up for some 'safe space' Julianna invasions on PS5?

It was honestly one of the most flat out enjoyable games I'd played in a long time. The difficulty was pitched the right side of fun and it kept me hooked from beginning to end. Conversely I really didn't get on with my couple of hours with it...I say that as someone who loves the Dishonored series...Oh well, we can't all be the same of course

To be fair it only really takes off after the first couple of hours, but if you're not enjoying it, it's best to stop! Horses for courses etc.

I’m trying to like Deathloop - I like the idea and the production design rather more than then game play I think. The shooting is pretty poor and the stealth that I’ve tried is patchy. I do like to root about in a game level though, and on that count it delivers more.
However, it is on the to do pile again now that I’m playing Uncharted 4. Probably helps that I did not get round to it on PS4 so it’s is all new to me. There is A LOT of roping/climbing etc. But it is engaging and again, enjoying rooting about the levels - though I’m already past a number of missed artefacts. Not sure I’d be up for playing it through again to soon though I here the other part is a pacier affair.

I got a good bit of time in on this last night. I'm currently looping, collecting stuff, infusing it, exploring. Great game, great atmosphere. I like the shooting and the stealth, too. Sneaky sneaky, pop a head, now.

I'm still very early into this, just had my first full day and then first Julianna invasion. I've since ran into a game crashing bug twice now collecting the LPP from my safe but have looked into it and it's a known bug that means instead of fucking around in the library first to get all the good gear you just head straight to the objective without killing anyone. I'm still unclear as to how you keep progression on weapons etc, but that must be because I've not got far enough in yet.

I won't say too much, but essentially you need to progress further.
Things will become clearer.
I actually really like the way it slowly unfolds stuff.

Finished it this morning, and almost fucked it up. Ending spoilers follow: I let my daughter live. Neat epilogue.

Same here. ...but only because I didn't realize the game was expecting you to fire the pistol yourself. I'm slow.

It's all clicked into place now, really well done way of taking a unique concept and giving the player time to get used to it. Have completed my first day, now onto my second attempt. It's a very well crafted game, I'm really enjoying it.

My only complaint is this. I like doo wop as much as the next man but Ode to Somewhere is starting to grate on me a bit. At this rate I'm going to enjoy offing Frank the most. 😁

Yeah.
I have to say that I really enjoyed it but by that point I just wanted to finish.
So I did the opposite of what I would do in real life. 😅

Big fan of Dishonoured and especially Prey. I'm hoping to get similalrly engrossed once it drops on GamePass but everything I've seen in terms of the repeat loop has me doubting that.....
Hope I'm wrong

kilters it's very good indeed. If you like Dishonored and Prey and I can't see why you won't like it. Don't get put off by the loop idea. It's actually more linear than you might expect, and there's just as much sandbox fun as their previous games.

It's not, no. There's a distinct order to do things and although you're doing certain bits multiple times, there's a narrative reason for it each time (or you just plain fucked something up so need to wait a day out and try it again).
