Glorious day out on the plains. Distant sounds of the Ukrainian's training with tanks and Artillery.

The mother is half miniature poodle, half havanese, the father a miniature poodle.

Yeah, but an F1b Havapoo to be exact, as it's not 50/50.

Does that have any particular advantage / difference to an F1?

Does that have any particular advantage / difference to an F1? While genetically exactly 50/50, the looks of an F1 litter can vary wildly. Some dogs may still have the fur of a havanese or of a poodle. With a 75/25 mix, the pups have a much more uniform look. I don't see a lot of advantages with Havapoos, as Havanese also don't shed, but if you're breeding e.g. Goldendoodles, buyers might be looking for poodle fur properties (hypoallergenic), so you might want to have a more predictable litter.

Ah, that explains why our little fluffball's brothers all look quite different. One brother is the spitting image of her and the rest look like completely different dogs!

Also, she's gone into heat now. Bleeding a bit but not too much. Her behaviour has definitely altered but not massively although she's more on edge than she was before, barking at more things (like the wind, a man on crutches, the neighbour going through their gate). She's not a little baby any more

She gave birth today to two pups, the third came out dead, probably suffocated 😢
We're second in line, so we should get one, but still…

Yay, in 4 weeks we're going to meet our pup for the first time. We received tons of videos already and no matter which of the two we'll get, they are both just the cutest.

Where the bloody hell do you buy kittens these days? The two we have now I found on marketplace for about £8 each, pets are no longer available via marketplace and gumtree only has silly money breeds at £1000+. I'd sooner avoid the RSPCA etc as I suspect we'll not meet their stringent standards etc. World's gone potty.

all ours the last couple of decades have come from cats protection. don't recall particularly onerous checks beyond a visit to ensure we're not complete wrong'uns, and on one occasion we were living in a rented shithole. be a bit flexible with definition of "kitten" and you're fine - our current couple, sorry, current one, fuck cancer, were about eight months to a year when we got them
started "charging" up to a hundred or so? can't recall, it wasn't a lot compared to what you'll spend on food in the first couple of months but it wasn't an eight quid affair, I think they try to cover some costs and discourage the "kitten for christmas" lot

Think we were 75 quid for our current moggie from cats protection folk.
That was in may last year.

We got our 3 from the RSPCA as kittens though we cheated a bit as we fostered first. No real hassle apart from a home visit to make sure our environment is suitable. Think it was £80 each but they’re neutered / vaccinated / microchipped and have proper health checks so you can be confident they’re ok.

Yep, we got ours from cat's protection too. Lucky to get 2 kittens tbh, but the only strict criteria they had was proximity to a main road.

Hmm might try the usual suspects then, see how we fair, we already have two, sisters 8yrs old as placid as can be though not always to each other, a dog was always the plan but that's just not gonna happen, wonder what they'd class 'a main road' as?

if your current two are ok with the roads in your area then I'm sure the shelters will be ok with them - it's just shitty luck with cats and roads innit? we've lost two to cars, one on a 40mph suburban and one on a so-rural-20mph-is-pushing-it-but-everyone-drives-drunk

Speaking of kittens, my aunt and uncle got this pair of terrors last week... Percy, who's a very nervous boy. And Missy, his sister who is the boss.

Ah, I had a cat called Missy as a kid. So named as she always went missing. Eventually she didn't come back one day... neighbours found her in their porch, minus a head, apparently bitten off by a fox.
Edit: I'd also only get ginger cats again if possible. Far easier to see as a driver.

We’ve got a new kitten adopted off a friend who’s naughty cat had a litter. I’m obsessed. She’s the cutest fluffiest cuddliest thing in the world and she won’t leave my side and I adore her. My other cat is however insanely jealous, which is fair enough to be honest.
