The pets thread aka my house smells of cat/dog/other piss

I've generally wrapped them up in a towel, like a straight jacket and put them in the carrier, then loosen the towel and remove it, rather than trying to get them in any another way. Leaving a familiar jumper or whatever in the carrier to give them some comfort that they can piss and shit on whilst transporting them in the car.

We visited a Havapoo breeder yesterday. She plans on her Havanese to mate with a Poodle in September, so we would be able to get a pup in January/February.

We read tons of articles beforehand on what a good breeder should do, and made a checklist and prepared tons of questions. She does EVERYTHING right. The mother had extensive genetic testing done and is negative for all hereditary diseases (and she showed us the results). The pups grow up in the living room, so they will be used to everyday noises (coffee machine, vacuuming etc.). She gets them used to brushing, bathing, cleaning between the toes, other dogs and riding in a car. They will be checked by a vet (and an ostheopath), vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped. She even housetrains them. She wants buyers to visit the pups regularly and not to be too set on a particular pup, as she prefers to see how pups and potential new owners interact wih each other and then match them according to what she thinks might be the best fit.

We said we wanted to sleep on it. We did, but we knew yesterday already: this is it.
