That's not a chihuahua, that's a toy dingo.

The chihuahua is a little underweight for his size.

You've just reminded me it's wetneck time for the cats... We've moved over to a 3 month one (which seems to be better than Advocat so far) so at least there isn't the absolute nightmare of doing this monthly now...
You can't even crack a paracetamol out of the packet without Luna running out of the room and finding somewhere to hide.

Never done this, thanks for the heads up. Any tips on finding them on a long-haired dog? He doesn't like being brushed as it is but I don't see an alternative option to find them.

If he'll let you, you can run your fingers through his fur and feel for lumps near the skin. You should focus around the neck, ears, face and the underside as those are the most common places, but they can attach anywhere. You'll know if you find one. They look like a skin tag but are soft. Don't pull them off, get a hook tool and use the rotary technique.

Just ordered one of those tick tools, just in case!

Here's a question: what do you guys do with your pet's poo when they poo at home? We currently bag it and chuck it in the landfill bin but I'm wondering if I'm missing other options.* * It's certainly better than what my mum used to do, which was pick it up with a trowel and lob it over the fence into the nearby brook.

Nothing you can do but throw it away, it’s not anything you can use for fertilizer or composting if you were thinking along those lines.

Pick it up with some TP and flush it. It's poo.

Why not get yourself a dog? The guilt and cost of daycare - I'll be going to the office 2 or 3 days a week from the 16th. Cost I get, but guilt no. On the days we don't walk her, our dog goes out with a lovely lady and, even better, other dogs. She's whining at the door to get out as soon as she hears the van.

When our dog (first ever dog) was a pup I found a tick. Then another tick. Then another tick... We ended up taking over a hundred ticks off that poor puppy. Turns out pampas grass, which she loved to lie at the bottom of, is the perfect breeding ground for ticks.

Just checked and our water company says don't flush animal faeces down the loo as the sewage system isn't set up to deal with it.

I'd be able to afford half days at best, and more likely a lunchtime walk. Couldn't leave them alone for that long. In any event I'd want to take a month off work for the homecoming (socialisation, training etc) and that's completely off the cards.
