It's probably that people with small dogs don't think to socialise them with big dogs early on, unfortunately.
The problem we have with Dudley is that he's so small he jumps up to big dogs so he can reach their faces and we're worried a big dog's going to react badly to it one day.

From experience I think it's tough for some small dog owners (and people in general) too - a few times the owners seem more scared of Cooper than the dogs they're walking do.
He's a fairly big lad and although I know (as well as you can) he wouldn't go for anyone they understandably don't know that.

I've also read that behaviours that would be a problem in a large dog (e.g. jumping up) tend to go uncorrected more often in small dogs as it doesn't bother the owner so much.

Happens with Dexter too. Definitely a smaller dog thing about them feeling threatened.
He lies down when he meets smaller dogs now and that seems to work being on their level.

I can't have pets at the moment and I was almost tempted to invite my neighbours cat over to hang out. She's adorable.

That is a cute cat.
She's saying "pet me".
Soon to be followed by "with your eyes".

Dougs will lose his shit if you invite them in. Too right. Give them a stroke and some attention, send them on their way. Fucking cat nappers everywhere.

Some pics from this weekend’s adventures… Boxer club. Sgt. Major and Corporal Casper on a mission to catch every stick in the forest. Recon on this morning’s solo deployment. Hot work, these fields.

Dudley sleeps on our bed at night and every now and then likes to go under the duvet for a bit. So I looked for dog beds where he can burrow under and found this one. After a few days he's really taken to it.

I beat an egg yolk to glaze a wellington. Left it on the side for two minutes and Nozomi drank it. Fucking weasel.

On the subject of pets under duvets, found Podrick here earlier today. I didn’t tuck him in, or pose Brian the Brachiosaurus.

Dudley is just the cutest. What breed is he? Norfolk Terrier, they're usually a gold colour but sometimes you get black and tan like Dudley. Most people think he's a Yorkie when they first see him.

We have just adopted am 18 month old ragdoll from Cat's Protection due to exactly this problem. She was vanishing for days and the previous owner saw her in the neibours house. She stopped eating at home but was putting on weight and the neibour would not stop. in the end they gave the cat up to stop the issue. tragic really and I do not understand how anyone can think it is Ok to feed another familiy's pet.

Having lost Barney to cancer a few weeks ago we scoured Cat's Protection and came up with this...
Calling her Lyra. 18 month old Ragdoll
