My mum had this problem with her cat, sociable little turd had wormed it's way into the affections of about 3 separate households at one point, all feeding him fresh fish and letting him kip on their sofas when he felt like it. Little bastard had it made.
Fortunately they knew the people through friends, so messages were relayed and they mostly cut it out.
Poor girl won't let anyone near her mouth so going to have to be sedated just to have it looked at but as its the weekend none of the vets near me have enough staff to do it.
Other dog who acts like she didn't want another dog has been staying by her and giving her licks.
Yeah just annoying having to wait another day. Thought she just had an upset stomach but noticed a smell coming from her mouth last night so tried to have a look but she wasn't having it.
Wonder if a tooth broke when she had her breakfast on Friday as she was fine in the morning.
Also means she's not had anything to eat or drink for a couple days now which is going to make her feel even weaker.
My 15.5 year old cat Lola had a scare recently. She started breathing erratic after feeding and making sniffling noises then started wincing in one eye. I had a look and her eye was half filled with pooled blood. Straight to vets.
Vets were not 100% sure as it fit into 4 different diagnosis. One of them was uveitis. Her eye wasn't reacting to light or stimulus, so they gave me steroid drops and atropine to open the pupil. Next visit they were happy with progress and couldn't see damage in eye so continued the steroids and then wanted her in after a week to monitor blood pressure and take blood samples.
She's now diagnosed with stage 2 kidney disease and insanely high blood pressure so she's on a strict renal diet and going back again next week for more blood pressure monitoring. What a couple of weeks!
On the plus side, the blood is draining out of her eye and it's 3/4 gone now and she seems much better in herself and back to loving fusses.
Glad she's on the mend. After our recent cat woes with breathing difficulties i was fearing the worst at the start of your post.
Missus has recently 'fessed up to scouring cats protection posts, so is obvs keen to get back in the cat owning game if something appears in the next few months.
I lost a cat last year with breathing and coughing issues. He was nearly 15. Started coughing when purring heavy then started losing weight and eventually stopped eating. After a month of trying all sorts with vets (steroids, antibiotics) he was suffering from not eating for two weeks so I had to put him to sleep. Bloody horrific losing a pet like that and being there when it happens. I'm a grown 43 year old man and I was crying my eyes out. I hate going to vets and always think the worst now. Currently got two that are 15.5 years. My boy Jasper has pancreatitis but doesn't let it bother him and he still acts like a kitten.

Fitted two catflaps today as our house layout is slightly peculiar, the cats access to the back garden is effectively out of a second front door and down a narrow path to the side, silly buggers seem more intent on exploring the front (ie road) rather than the back garden, we have a useless conservatory and a patio door separating the conservatory and the dining room so that would have been two catflaps each in a double glazed unit and that just ain't gonna happen.
Zooplus is usually my go-to for food/litter. Toys are just bought on a whim whenever we're out and about. The little fuckers are happier playing with a cardboard box anyway.
TK maxx usually have a decent selection of dog stuff. Or pets at home (used them online a few times for stuff that was out of stock elsewhere)
