Marvel’s Avengers coming on the 30th of this month. Will give it a try now I guess! So I’ve actually got well into this recently. I have one max power level character (Kate Bishop) and I am working on others. It’s a funny old game but I get why Crystal Dynamics have stuck with it. The characters are all very different and the skill trees are interesting. It’s not without its problems of course, but an injection of players on Xbox is gladly welcomed for end game content (what little there is). But a Raid is coming and also the gear and cosmetic systems are due a rework before the end of the year. In the absence of DFawkes I offer myself as a font of knowledge and mission partner if you get into it. How is it as a single-player game? I quite fancy it as it almost looks like a "serious" version of my favourite game from last-gen, Lego Marvel Super Heroes, but I'll be honest I've got no interest in multiplayer that doesn't involve Spartans at the moment.

95% of the game is playable single player. The main campaign and free dlc additions are all good. The remaining 5% is end game stuff and something you kind of have to do to get decent max level gear but entirely skippable if you dont feel like it.

Oh cool, cheers. So can you play as different characters in the campaign or is all Ms Marvel after the first level?
I should probably just wait till this evening and try it out ;-)

It jumps between characters for the story so you get to try all of them out. Some missions let you select characters but they're not true campaign missions, more like Destiny strikes. For the end game stuff you can select whoever you want, but it's unlikely you'll want to carry on at that point...

Great, thanks. I'm looking forward to trying it out actually, although I'm pretty settled into a Cyberpunk single-player/Halo multiplayer mindset when I sit down at the Xbox. At least my kids can see me play this one I guess.

I'm not really one for Namco's action RPGs, but given that Scarlet Nexus is now in the service, I guess I have no excuse not to try it.

Earlier saw the news about Scarlet Nexus, typical I got it in the sale about a month ago. Although it cost "nothing" as used rewards points. As mentioned before Astra ascending should be on gamepass, looks like a nice 2d JRPG

I bought my Series X 3 weeks ago even though I had a PS5. All these announcements make me regret my purchase not one bit. If it wasnt for the new Horizon game, I might even consider selling my PS5.

Mighty Goose is a good laugh if you enjoy your SNK-style OTT shooters. Bloody hell, I can only assume a bunch of users are up for renewal on GP for them to be putting so much good shit out all of a sudden. Back 4 Blood, Age of Empires IV, Forza Horizon 5, and Halo Infinite also imminent.

I downloaded Avengers in advance a few days ago. Just tried to launch it .. not letting me play. Is it not on gamepass yet?

It's not showing up on the Game Pass app yet so I guess not. Presumably it'll unlock some time later today.

Scarlet Nexus will annoy my brother, he paid full price for that 3 months ago. Yet another reason GamePass has turned me into a boring cheapskate.

Unsighted just released on Game Pass, I gave the demo of that a go on Steam a while back and I was quite impressed so I'm looking forward to playing the full game.

Word of warning for Series S users (and Series X users running close to capacity): Marvel's Avengers is ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE JIGGLEBITES!
125GB!??! That's a lot of Hulks.

I definitely regret buying Avengers it has not held my attention and the forcing of the multiplayer type missions in campaign mode left a really bitter taste in my mouth. They really had a licence to print money and fucked it from day one. As a Gamepass game though go all in and regret nothing.

Game pass pc version doesn't connect with my Steam version. I haven't played it online and just trying to get my characters to level 50 so not really bothered.

Yep, I had to delete a couple of games and move some to my passport drive just to get it to fit! Hope it's worth it! ... I'm going to have to get one of those bastard expensive SSDs aren't I?

I'm happy with a 4TB external drive tbh. It does happen to be a SSD that I repurposed from my PC, but a regular spinner would do just fine. Just install stuff to internal by default and do a weekly move to external for anything you're not playing. It's quick enough to move stuff back when you need it (compared to downloading which is normally a couple of hours minimum)
With the Series S I'd probably be a bit keener to upgrade the internal storage, though. I can see that running out quickly with a couple of games like Avengers.

Apparently the single player campaign isn't the longest, so should be easy enough to blast through it and then reclaim the space back.
