Hated it. Only part I liked was the one who worked at the fish factory. Actually expected him to cut his hand off while imagining himself exploring.
Rest I just found really downbeat.

I really liked Edith Finch. Probably the best walking simulator out there. Granted I'm not much of a fan of the genre, but still.

The bookwalker is leaving game pass on the 15th June (can't believe its June already!) I really liked this game
Bramble is also leaving but some of the boss fights are awful and feel like something from ps2/3 era game, it has nice dark fairy tale atmosphere for rest of the game

How long is Bookwalker? Given I'm almost done with Hauntii, and that I still have 7 days of GP to go, maybe I can get through it. As for Bramble, it is very good imo, so it's a shame they are taking it out... but it's also been given free with Amazon Prime last month, so there's at least that.

How long to beat has 7 hours for bookwalker (my playtime get messed up as had to restart it as it was broken mess at launch) but fixed now
I liked Bramble when they were not forcing you to fight their shovelware bosses

Started Arcade paradise as its something different, starts off lots of chores of picking up rubbish and loading washing machines but slowly opens up and you can turn the place into retro arcade place. Not sure if I will stick with it but its something different to all wants on gamepass

Not sure if I will stick with it but its something different to all wants on gamepass After about the second extension it becomes much less about the laundry and much more about the Arcade. As 90s nostalgia the sound track is pretty decent as well with game based parodies of 90s hits/genres. One of the few game soundtracks I’ve purchased. This would have been a great setting for Capcom Arcade Studio

This would have been a great setting for Capcom Arcade Studio I'm glad to hear it becomes less launderette and more arcade later as I started it and got fed up with picking up trash and filling soap dispensers. I want an arcade! I may go back to it.

Lords of the fallen worth a dabble? Probably not unless you have rinsed most of the souls-likes and not on Series S as I think visuals are ropey?
Then again I've not played it as I don't like souls-likes so ignore me

Lords of the fallen worth a dabble? If you like Soulike games it's a no brainer, if you don't it's not going to convince you otherwise. Personally, I loved it
It introduces a couple of things into the genre, has an interesting 2-world design and some cool enemies/bosses, along with the genre tropes of obscure story/NPC campaigns, difficult curve, losing currency when you die etc. The first boss encounter is quite difficult, but it gets easier from there.
At launch, it suffered from some performance issues (mostly Xbox), which I believe have been improved but not vanished (so if you are playing on Xbox remember to close the game entirely from time to time, to avoid any slowdowns caused by quick resume).
As it is on GamePass, you may try it for size.

Me for one, never played more than an hour or two on any of them, in fact a sure fire way for me not to play/buy a game is if it has the words "Souls-like" see also rogue-like/lite anywhere in the description. The one I wish I could like, as in be any good at and not just get pissed off, rather than learn the patters and weapons etc would be Bloodborne. As for gamepass Still wakes the deep coming out on 18th looks good. I love the Chinese room's work with EGttR being an all time favourite.

for souls like, Only completed Lords of the fallen (the old one not the new one), always found them heavy time investment "to git gud" and then improve as it gets harder

Completed and enjoyed the original LotF. Thoroughly rinsed Elden Ring. Made some progress in The Surge 1&2, but moved on and left them in backlog hell. Bounced hard off Dark Souls 1&2, own 3 but never played it. Fired up the new LotF the other day, too early to say how I'll get on with it though.

Read in the comments on EG post about the 2nd game, that it has brutal XP grind. Having a cheat that gives 16x XP makes the game actually fair? Nice! Octopath 1 had been on previously right? it has

Interesting, I've heard mostly very good things about the sequel...

I really need to pick it back up. I just kind of drifted away from it in the middle of running through the last of the initial character stories.
Excellent game, but you have to be in the mood for pages of text.

this is what I read on EG comments
If thats true, thats a no to these games as RPG grinding in these games is painful as its a chore and lazy game design

I spoke in those comments about the grind. I don’t know what I did differently, but I was overpowered by the half way point (in the original game). I didn’t have to grind at all. I mixed up my party to ensure everyone levelled up together, but honestly the game got easier and easier as it went on. By chapter 4 I was killing some bosses in a matter of minutes.
I honestly don’t understand the grind comments. Unless I was subconsciously grinding without realising it.

Callisto protocol seems like perfect gamepass fare. Not good enough to buy, but interesting enough to check out. The Chinese room game will be worthy of trying. That studio has sort of gone through the wringer so I’m keen to see where they are now.

Played through Callisto protocol and I'm glad I could trade it when completed. Not really bad game but for that level of production values it was not that good, melee combat was main part of the game and its so basic
