Have Psychonauts 2 already downloaded, watched a few reviews and all really good reviews. Deleted Hades now, 2nd attempt to kill the end boss and don't feel like doing it anymore

Running through Hades at the moment. Into the third section and finding it pretty hard but loving the changes in combinations of weapons, boons etc.

Psychonauts 2 has the same stutter issue that The Ascent does. Also defaults to 65% render resolution.

Hades is a weird one. I seem to go from absolutely loving it and can't wait to play it again as soon as I've stopped, to just not being arsed with it any more. Think I've given up on it now, as I can't be bothered to play it this week.

I reckon Games With Gold gets retired around Christmas this year. Or at least they retire it for x360 games. They could tie it into the launch of cloud on console - "we're withdrawing Gen 7 Games With Gold, but now you can play Gen 9 games on your Xbox One with cloud gaming!"

I hope the get rid of the 360 games and spend a bit more on the xbox one games. Warhammer: Chaosbane has been on sale quite a few times and free weekends

Chaosbane was good fun the first time round. Never have managed to finish it with a second character though.

First impressions of Myst aren't too great. The thing reeks of low budget amateur project, the controls need some work and the interface is amateurish. It's also nowhere near 60fps on Series S, to the point that you are better off disabling performance mode and running with ray tracing, which seems to make it a stable 30fps.
Might end up playing it on PC instead. FSR runs well enough at 60fps on my card and still looks decent, if a bit too much like a heavy sharpen filter.

Just got the FS2020 achievement for doing one of the bush flights without any navigation help – it took a smidge over 10 hours in total (it's split into 16 legs, each with a takeoff and landing). I did it over 2 weeks and it was really enjoyable – it feels to me as if this is the 'meat' of it as an actual game. You get written directions (heading, time, description of what road/river/mountain range to follow/turn at), and then it's you and your plane. It's so satisfying following instructions and magically finding the right airport 30 mins later.
Would recommend it if you're wondering what FS2020 is about once you've crashed into your house.

Forza Motorsport 7 has been reduced to £7.49 for anyone who wants to purchase it before it's pulled from sale (it's being removed from the MS store entirely, not just from Game Pass). If you ever bought DLC for it before they announced it was leaving, you should get a token to download the base game for free- but it has to be bought before the announcement, you can't just grab the cheapest DLC now. forzamotorsport.net/en-US/news/forza-motorsport-7-end-of-life

According to multiple sources, Final Fantasy XIII will be added soon to the GP. Never had the chance to play it, so I'm not passing this time.

Honestly I missed this news.
Since it's my main sim-racing game, I just bought it (previously I played it on Game Pass) so I can keep playing while waiting for Forza Motorsport 8. Forza Horizon is AMAZING, but more arcade than Motorsport, and Assetto Corsa, to me, isn't as good as FM7.

the artful escape sounds good A teenage guitar prodigy sets out on a psychedelic, multidimensional journey to inspire his stage persona and confront the legacy of a dead folk legend. Starring voice performances by Michael Johnston, Caroline Kinley, Lena Headey, Jason Schwartzman, Mark Strong, and Carl Weathers. news.xbox.com/en-us/2021/09/01/coming-soon-xbox-game-pass-september-2021/

I've been playing a bit of Forza 7 to see if it's worth buying before it disappears, but tbh there doesn't seem to be anything particularly noteworthy about it. Gamepass is already stacked with racing games anyway, and FH4 and FH5 should keep me busy until FM8 is out probably next year.
Played a bit of Hotshot Racing and it's quite fun in a 90s arcade throwback way, though definitely a bit shallow and the in-race voice clips are atrocious and probably borderline racist.
It would be nice if they gave a bit more notice of GP games leaving tbh, at least a month instead of just couple of weeks.

The forza 7 graphics are really good for last gen game and imo its the best sim like racer but the single player side is so tired and very little has been done since forza 4's single player for Hotshot Racing, really hated the elastic band AI but MS will never fix the notice of GP games as they want to sell you the games (which is normally not a good discount compared to proper sales)

Yeah, Hotshot racing has a good look to it, but the rubberbanding is ridiculous. Every race is won or lost in the last few turns of the final lap.

Oh yeah, the rubberbanding was another thing that put me off. One of those games that seems fun for a few minutes until the flaws become apparent.
That said, Art of Rally hasn't exactly clicked with me either (probably because I prefer racing against other cars on the track instead of just trying to beat times).

I thought Red Dead Redemption: Online was free to play… What does it leaving Game Pass mean?

It's not free, was seperated from the full game for a cheap price.

The real joy of Forza Motorsport is getting a few mates together online and building cars to a certain spec/budget. Before you know it you’ll have your favourite S/A/B/C class builds. They added in-game punishments for ramming and cheating - it’s fun when you’re in second but your mate in front cuts a corner with locked brakes and ends up second.

Horizon shits all over Motorsport from a great height. Horizon is GREAT (I'm craving for FH5), but it's 100% arcade. Motorsport is a sim racing.

I found it really charming but be prepared for a lot 15 seconds max of back & forth busywork. Cheers for the invite bud. I’m so shit at warzone and I’ve put hours into that. I can’t start something new, I don’t have the time to learn the mechanics. Thinking the next Battlefield is the perfect time to invest, I’ll get on that. 👍🏻

Yeah, it's not exactly thrilling. Its a decent little game mechanically and I do love the time trial format of Rally, but it lacks excitement somehow. Maybe its got something to do with keeping the car on the road more than it is maximising your lap times. I'm still enjoying it, but I don't know if I'll complete every rally.
