You gave me an idea, technically taking the sidewalk route would be both avoiding the traffic lights and driving through them. I hope you are from the US because if you are from the UK and using 'sidewalk' instead of pavement, then I will add it to this list Ark is an Italian friendo. I'm not sure what the rule is on sidewalk vs pavement in this instance.

I would say sidewalk is acceptable given a lot of people are taught by Americans ,(or at least using Americanisms)

People that have days off during the week but decide Sunday is the day to mow the lawn, pressure wash the stones and so on. Sunday, Bloody Sunday!

I'm not sure what the rule is on sidewalk vs pavement in this instance. I was told by a Spanish student who was an engineer that they don't use pavement to describe a walkway as it's the material that is used for roads and such. Obviously I couldn't let it go and argued to the toss.

People that use emulators and stretch 4:3 games to widescreen, thus absolutely destroying the original aspect ratio. It makes my teeth hurt.

I quit the Mega Man subreddit Discord channel because nobody understands the slightest bit of humour. Most surprising about the channel was that it was almost all teenagers, I expected a Mega Man channel to be mostly old fucks. But that's great, it only speaks in favour of that ancient game series if 2020s teens are excited about it.
Anyway, any attempt at irony and humour was completely lost, no matter how obvious. It seems like you have to add "lmao" to your comment if you're trying to do humour, and I refuse to do that. But even then, others trying humour are quickly berated for doing so, in the vein of "I didn't laugh, shut up asshole". I found that very detrimental to having enjoyable conversation.
Is this some modern thing or some modern teenage thing? Or is it a reddit thing? I'm struggling with the irony that some middle-aged German twat is irritated by others not having any grasp of the concept of irony.

No insults whatsover, just trying to be slightest bit ironic, but everyone takes everything literally unless you add "lol" or "lmao" or a barrage of emojis or whatever

Well one of the few actual old guys was a little sulky when he talked about how he liked Sheep Man and I asked him if he was Welsh. He was half Welsh. But other than that, almost everything was completely inoffensive.

The more you know

It's "pavement" in England, and the English have by definition authority over the English language. Therefore, anything the Americans say differently is false.

On the island of Ireland, we say "footpath".

Yeah it's footpath on this island too. Calling it "pavement" is too broad - paths are not always paved - and therefore wrong.

When I was in an office (and had a job!) the gym bunnies whose lunch consisted of a protien shake irritated the shit out of me.
1. It's a supplement and not a meal replacement. 2. You should be drinking it straight after a workout, not the middle of the fucking day.

People who have a water bottle at work and decant it into a glass. Just drink out of the bottle and stop overcomplicating things.
