It's some top shit housery. I could totally see him signing for Spurs though, he'd do it just to think he's getting back at Arsenal. The weirdo.

Now that's just unnecessary
Edit: Emiliano's gesture that is.

As long as he’s not shoving it up his butt, it’s fine by Qatar.

I must have totally missed all the stuff other Arsenal fans clearly dislike him for. To me, he was a bargain youth prospect who was number 3, then number 2 GK, on a relatively low wage and did a solid job. Then when Leno got injured and we all shit ourselves, he absolutely over-delivered and played a big role in winning a trophy. Then we got a very sizeable fee for a backup keeper with about 15 PL appearances. I know he made a few silly comments about the long term prospects of Villa Vs Arsenal after the transfer but can't say that bothered me. Especially as we had a bunch of major issues at the time. Obviously if he signs for Spurs that changes things but otherwise I'm happy for him, hope he has a good club career. We've got a better keeper now, it's worked out for everyone.

This is pretty heartwarming amidst all the controversy on and off the pitch:

Just to help with my notes... who watched on ITV? 👀 BBC here. I was tuning in for Countryfile and then got into it.

muddyfunster I don't disagree, I thought we both did well out of that. I have no ill feelings towards him, other than being a bit baffled - He does seem to be quite bitter about being sold. It's not just immediately after the transfer, he's had quite a few odd swipes since. I get he was pissed off, but it's not exactly worked out badly for him.

Just to help with my notes... who watched on ITV? 👀 I was more torn than usual this year. ITVs commentary has generally been better than BBC this tournament (imo - not usually the case either) but decided hdr was more important to me.

I watched the game on itv then switched back to bbc at HT and FT. General standard of commentary is pretty poor though.
Don’t know much about Martinez, but from what I’ve seen and heard today he seems like a bit of a dick. But he’s won a WC so I guess it’s working for him.

I'm just not convinced he actually means any of it. Reckon he's just a wind up merchant who likes a bit of mischief. If he was genuinely unpleasant off the pitch we'd have known much sooner.

Like he must realise that Mbappe put 4 past him today. I think he sees the funny side.

Started BBC then switched Jenas for McCoist about 10 mins in. Then back to BBC for HT and FT.

Never seen him and Russell Kane in the same room. Think he’s what happens when Russel Kane eats spinach.

Did love the fact Aguero did a Terry and turned up in full kit.

He may well be better than Leno (who was also excellent that year before injury - then lost confidence being asked to play a new way). Ramsdale is as good a shot stopper as both but has better distribution than either and is 6 years younger with room to develop.

Thats not fair. We didn’t spunk anything away. We went out against a team that outplayed us on the day. If we’d have won, I’m doubt we’d have beaten Argentina. I’ve got no problem with a top 8 finish when we’re matched up against one of the world’s best teams. Yeah, banter aside it's pretty difficult to say you spunked it when you were up against the defending champions and almost back-to-back winners. Banter aside, that France team is missing a lot of the world champions, and how many of their players would be better than what is in that England team. Mbappe, Varane. Maybe Lloris, but debatable. I guess expecting England to do better with that squad is trolling.

Ramsdale is as good a shot stopper as both but has better distribution than either and is 6 years younger with room to develop. To be clear I meant Ramsdale is definitely better than Leno. Ramsdale looks decent however he is currently behind PICKFORD in the England pecking order. He has had a good season but still a lot to prove, predicating an idea that he is better because he may improve as opposed to where he is at now is not really comparing like for like. Additionally Martinez now has a pretty big trophy in his pocket and the golden glove trophy to go along with it. Like I said definitely not cut and dry IMO. I think I'd currently take Martinez over Ramsdale myself.

Is that a Golden Glove trophy in your pocket, or are you just pleased to see me?

Cocky, older players don't really match what Arteta wanted/has been building though. Regardless of how the season goes, Arteta's moulded this team into a cohesive unit and done so largely by ditching the driftwood and the issue players and bringing in young players willing to learn and hungry. He probably is a little bit better than Ramsdale, but not much and he's shown he's a twat on several occasions since leaving. It's worked out well for all parties.
