I’m also 100% buying this after reading the comments on this thread.
I did play and loved the original back in the day and I had fond memories of DS2 but I doubt think I ever bothered with the 3rd. If this is as good as you lot say I wouldn't say no to a remake of the others.

Hopefully this and Jedi Survivor sell well and ea continue making some good single player games. They have some talented studios and some decent IP and it would be nice to see it used appropriately.

So I thought it was my imagination but had a look online and yeah, there’s an odd resolution issue on ps5. It’s funny as it suddenly began to look a bit, well, rubbish.

Apparently it's a bug with the way VRS is implemented on all platforms so it degrades texture quality in the stuff you can see, they're already working on a patch for it. |

I saw John from digital foundry make a comment about it and how it was worse on the PS5 than the Xbox. I am playing on the Series X and haven't noticed any issues at all.

It’s comforting to know it’s a thing. I thought it was just me. Sure they’ll sort it soon. You kind of accept these things diving in on day one. A fucking masterpiece either way. Love the changes they’ve made. The zero g bits are brilliant.

It’s been long enough since I played it that I don’t remember what’s different, but I DO remember what’s the same. I’m like, “Ah! THIS room!” every few minutes.
Voicing Isaac detracts but it’s not like the game is non-stop dialogue, doesn’t really get in the way of the actual game. Just got the ripper before calling it a night.

I didn’t watch any previews of this, so didn’t know anything was wrong, but I wasn’t exactly blown away by the graphics so far. I mean, nice I guess, but the original game was a real achievement. With this I’m just, games look like this now. Maybe after a patch I’ll be “oh shit! look at that!”

Also how fucking tense was Medical with darkness plus smoke on the floor so you can't even see what's attacking. God damn! |

Between this, NFS Unbound, Wild Hearts, Star Wars Squardrons, Jedi Survivor, It Takes Two, you can argue that EA might be one of the best third party publishers around right now.

Just completed chapter 1, playing normal. I loved the original and loving this. I think I will go through with the line cutter only on this playthrough.

The people on there need some perspective in their life, apparently they're going to start demands for refunds if there isn't a patch tomorrow as the game is 'unplayable' because of the VSR issue, so devs should be working throughout the weekend to get them the patch asap. THEIR VOICES MUST HE HEARD!!!

The people on there need some perspective in their life, apparently they're going to start demands for refunds if there isn't a patch tomorrow as the game is 'unplayable' because of the VSR issue, so devs should be working throughout the weekend to get them the patch asap. This really is a fantastic remake, I loved the original when it came out but there really isn't anything bad I could say about this version so far. Currently in Chapter 2 right after blowing up the barricade and heading for the morgue. Playing with headphones really feels essential given how it enhances the whole experience.
