OMFG I just beat the corpser boss at the end of act 2. Worst boss ever? I beat it second attempt but that must have taken an hour maybe just to slow af take down its health whilst having to kill a grenadier and four wreches EVERY turn! and the start of each health chunk it adds in a boomer. Wasn't overly hard just soooooo boring!!

Half way through act 3 and it it would have been so much better if you didn't have to do any of the side missions.

Yeah, towards the end, they get really annoying.
No real benefit to you beyond extra busy-work when you just want to finish it!

I nearly quit tactics because of the last boss fight, it's a real endurance test and seemed to last forever. Unfortunately I had a known bug (albeit random) on the final Boss and no matter how many times I reloaded the checkpoint the same thing happened. As some arse only allowed one save on Xbox I could not even return to a previous chapter. I loved what I played and would like a sequel but I'm still pissed off I had to YT the very last part of the story. |

Was finding myself not playing Tactics, enjoyed it but i think maybe it got a tad repetive and it was taking up space. So uninstalled this morning despite it being installed on day one and still not complete. Good game but doesnt quite do enough to keep its slot given its size.
Main bug bear is the menus and inventory managment. I get on consoles you have limited options but on PC let me see everyones equipment and just freely drag and drop between them. Found myself doing needless busy work in between missions which killed the pace.

I think I'm on the penultimate level now as the save says 94% complete. It went on and on and on. Would have been so much better with none of the side missions. Just made it way too repetitive.

I just tried the last boss for the first time. Got it to 1/3 health but failed to keep on top on the constant reinforcements. Fuck even bothering to try it again, just takes forever to grind the bosses health down whilst dealing with the reinforcement. God knows how long it took to take down the 2/3. Deleted

Well my X just earned its keep...just played Gears 3 koth on BulletMarsh. It has never looked this good, I'm actually really surprised by how it looks and plays with the boost and hdr.

So Xbox showcase approaching soon, are we going to hear about "The Marcus Fenix Collection" is anyone on here interested in the slightest ? I think some of you might be.
I watched a YT video today apparently containing leaked information:
We will get Gears 1-3 and J, with Gears 1UE (already out of course) 2UE and "remasters" of 3 and J
Not all maps will be present. WTF
Not all modes with be present, including losing Survival and Overrun...which is the best mode in J!
I have an awful feeling that this collection, should it exist be very much only half of the arse being used to make.

I didn't mind campaign too much, and it had some great dlc, but that red v blue mp...
On the plus side, there were some fun mp game modes beyond that aberration. And it has PROPER locust, not stupid robots or pretend locust.

I binned of Gears and Xbox incidentally when they did GoWJ. I never even played it after loving everything Gears it looked so bad.
Easily the best online game ever though in those Gears n Beers nights we used to have.
I'd be half tempted to pick up one of Aldi Xboxes(the weaker new one) if they did a remaster of 3. Get the old gang back together.

I still play Gears 3 to this day, more than 4 and 5 in fact. There is about 150-ish KOTH players that are on most days or weeks. Actually had a match the other night with 2 other UK players (99.9% of players are Mexico!) AND comms! Gears 3 still looks stunning, especially on the X at 60fps. I know a lot of people have issue with the RR animation/screen shake but you soon get used or re-used to it again. It can still run like a dog, due to the whole Host thing, but when it works, no other comes close to it.

Hi mate If the leaks are to be believed, J is getting the most tweaking, the control and gun loadout will fall in line with the original trilogy, so I assume no carrying a Boomshield and single are Gnasher/Lancer etc! It would be great if we got Locusts for pvp, even if it were a limited number like in 1 and 2. We all can recreate our Sat evenings again mate, campaign on insane and Horde/Beast! |

I remember fucking over barbour(i think) with an ivory skin getting attempt of his while late joining & actually playing well enough to kill the queen & stop re-spawning to *just* prevent him getting it that time...

Was it Duff when his console crashed as we defeated the game so he didn't get the skins? I remember not getting the Terminal/soldierl cheveo on J due to crashing just as we completed the objective. I think that was me, BFG, Vortex and you ? I was there at the end of 3 though, we got "lucky" if you remember with the TB Theron's. To be fair we deserved it after the Sub section. Gears 3 and UE (With BFG) are the only games in the series I have completed on Insane that I did not "cheese" any chapters! |
