That submarine section still haunts my nightmares.

I know mate, I'm sure Vortex or BFG kept getting killed...it defo was not me or you...
On the subject of missing cheveo's that one should have unlocked, I got thrown off the "all aboard" survival one on Terminal on J, got thrown off at wave 10, the final wave of course. I think it was with yourself, vortex and BFG, might have been Spank though. You/they all got and I did not and still do not have!

Now I'm not going to say they are Ground walking garbage, just not my style 

I'll be a senile old man in a home bumbling on about that!

I completed gears 5 Thursday night for the first time. I started it about 18 months ago and have been doing it in drips and drabs ever since. Was alright.

Good man. I completed it in one sitting on release day! (took the week off work to wallow in new Gears, just like 4 and UE) I thought is was a big improvement over 4's campaign.  Do you play pvp or pve in Gears ? 

So we are getting the last content drop for Gears 5 (then it is going into maintenance mode) on Tuesday. 2 maps, 1 new 1 returning (from 4) and 4 new characters, well returning characters:

Barrick. minus his Cigar as RF didn't want him smoking now...yes that is the truth, even though the Ginger Viking jumped ship to Blizzard.

and from J, Rager. I don't think he changes though, certainly not in pvp.

The last 2 years have been a bumpy ride for 5, overall I still love it having played for over 1'800 hours (over 3000 on G4), but I have certainly had my issues with it as well.

TC have upped their game with maps, made some really stand out ones, the character artists have always been great. Moving forward I hope that Gears 6 releases a lot more finished than 5 did. I would actually prefer a 2,3 UE version first, so TC can get to grips with the new unreal engine. Maybe then in 2024 get Gears 6.

I have been   it was actually 9 x for 24 hours. BFG is playing loads of it again (is he on here?), he keeps flirting with it then goes back to TD2, but I think he might stick around now. We don't tend to play together as I (possibly) like ranked pvp a bit more. I do still chat with him though and we have said about playing some Horde and Escape together...if only we had a 3rd player...he could play as Super-Mac

I have an xbox you are welcome to, it is OG black but it plays GEARS, I might even have a code for 5 somewhere...anyway mate re 5.
I will break it down:
Campaign:
I enjoyed a whole lot more than 4, but the open areas although a brave attempt, where not needed in Gears.

On that the original trilogy are all amazing. 3 is first due to playing with yourself,BFG,Vortex,Spank,Trout etc

PVP
Now it is mostly good but still has issues with lag and sometimes terrible MM

I didn't play much pvp on the first 2 games.

PVE
Horde was awful at first, but it has improved 100% and is now very good.

Escape is fun enough, but not a patch on Beast mode.

The mighty Gears 3 is ten years young today. Who knew that it was the best Gears was ever going to be.
Earlier due to being awake, I watched some of the promo vids on YT for it, the choice of songs was/is always epic for Gears games.
I also watched things like Anya's instruction to the new Horde 2.0 mode and the Best Buy midnight opening with Cliff B and fans.

After that I obviously played a bit 😉👍

Yes to player base at least in KOTH and TDM, but it does depend on time of day. I played at 09:00 today and only 4 or 5 other players. When I play in evenings (several times a week) for a few games, usually have full matches 👍

Currently enjoying tactics. Save file says 33% done..it's like a slightly quicker easier version on xcom which is fine with me right now! Like the execution system to get an extra move, bit of risk reward there.

Tactics was good. Great gearsy atmosphere.

Still need to replay it with jack.
