He's fucked off now at least.
Was pretty unusual that a Tory was thanking our European neighbours for getting it all cleared, the ERG won't like that.

What are the chances of the first time satellites are launched from our airspace would also have a big meteor earlier the same night?

Yeah that was not the greatest, let's see the rocket launch from the plane... Oh. Here's something that looks like a firework a minute after it dropped from the plane and ignited.

The rocket deliberately failed as it became sentient and didn’t want to be associated with the slimy bugger.

yeah, something like double the isp of other upper stage systems. the worry is how you protect the launch - you can't be running with a ~1% launch failure rate if every hundredth rocket sprays a reactor's worth of uranium over florida. I read something ages back on all the extra steps required for the new horizons probe (with its plutonium RTG) and how launch failure would have given everyone within a hundred miles their yearly average dose of rads

www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-64411469Crikey, that's close. And it was only spotted last week by an amateur! I know it's only a wee one but still. Something bigger could easily just go "hey guyssss" and smack us in the tits without much prior warning.
Comforting.

Always makes me start to think too much. Here I am going doo be doo in front of a computer and somewhere out there a gazillion miles away there's a big fuck off malevolent chunk of space sputum on it's way to us.

I've been doing my own research and calculations, solid Adamantium. :C
I don't want to panic anyone but this asteroid is what I'd refer to as a planet killer.

It would burn up in our atmosphere and whatever's left would be no bigger than a Chihuahua's head.

We're fucked Joking aside its quite terrifying how finely balanced our existence is. But also, we’re flying through space on a ball of magma. The centre is about as hot as the surface of the sun.
