Yeah man, glad to hear you're doing well pal. What happened to the big talk last week guys? You're slacking off today I had a hospital appointment today across borough so left early and walked it. Walking back now. Trying to get as much done today as it'll rain tomorrow

If I had to guess, I reckon I've probably walked less than 100 steps so far today.

I believe you must have either walk for a living or have one of the desk treadmills to be achieving 150k steps / week. Just glad to have my silver medal position back after a few days in bronze place.

I work for a corporate events company. If I'm not setting up an event, I'm loading trucks with equipment, rallying crew, or doing inventory in our warehouse. I'm on the move all day.
I'm really trying hard to shift my final 20kg of lockdown chonk. On my off days I'm walking 2-3 hours for exercise, not sure how long I can keep it up though especially as we're going away soon :/
I'm actually well behind my goals, as I aim for 175k steps a week, or 25k a day. And 6.5k cal burned a day, I'm averaging at about 5.9k atm

Putting me to shame. I don't have a fitbit, but my Google Fit app says I did 57000 last week. Poor show compared to you lot!

Just got the first week of this work challenge thingy down. Managed 80k on the bike, 25k on foot. Went for a ride Sat morn (after six kids in the house Friday night and a shedload of ale), got on the canal and just kept going, did 25k there. Which made me late for my own stag do.

If any of the other folk like Marcp want to become Fitbit friends, drop your profile URL in here, so I can add it to the first post. Also, I am sad that I'm dropping like a stone down the leaderboard. I got a blister on my big toe on Friday, so have had to recuperate after ignoring the discomfort on Saturday. I'm now fully healed and ready to challenge for silver again. Razz, in keeping with the Mario metaphor, cracks open mushrooms and stars every working day. But I'll get him.

My Fitbit battery dies after a day, usually it takes 5 days. I've been tweaking all the settings so hopefully it's ok now otherwise will have to get it replaced.

I had that once, left it on charge overnight on a low amperage outlet, like 1 amp. Hasn't happened since.

It's funny, how my activity now allows me to pinpoint when my injury happened. My blister appeared on the friday, but because I had work on saturday, I had to work through the pain. Then decided to rest up on sunday and monday. Falling down the leaderboard. BOO! As an aside, the walking is made easier by the comedy duo Desus & Mero's podcast. They are immature, crass and crude. They also have a show, where they attract quite high profile guests, whilst they do their promotion tours.

vicedestroyerYou should set your daily goals higher, it's no fun if they're easily attainable. For you I'd say, 20k steps

I'm going to set mine to 15k and once I regularly get that, up it.

I like playing videogames in god mode and I will keep my step target at 10k, so I feel like an unbeatable god at the end of the day.

vicedestroyer LMAO Whatever works for you bro For me, I found that I struggle to lose weight without setting myself a challenge, what's the point in trying harder to better myself if I'm "winning" everyday?

I hear that. For myself, it is about a routine that I know is relatively punishing. 20,000 steps a day for me means at least 180 minutes of brisk walking. I have found a route that is both punishing in terms of elevation and number of stairs and also safe to walk late at night. I have got that into my daily routine and I will see how it goes. I did buy myself a Fitbit Scale as well, but I have decided not to gauge my progress by actual weight loss. Simply for the fact that I know what I am like and I would obsessively check my weight every day. Or even more regularly. So I try to remember that this is a process. I have spent over 14 years putting on my excess weight and I have accepted that it is going to take time to get it off. Right now, I am all about getting my general stamina and strength up and I look back to how it was at the beginning. That represents a 70 minutes of a walk, punctuated by breaks at bus stops, because as you can see by my heart meter, I was dying! Figuratively. I can now do that walk without breaks in about 35 minutes. As you said, whatever works for each individual. I am looking to maintain this for a long time to come and am interested to see what changes I will see in weight, strength, stamina and body by next year June.

I've done everything to make the Fitbit battery better and I'm still having to charge twice a day. Very won't take it back so I've ordered another one from them and will swap it out.

It's all about community. That's all. People here have been very respectful about what people step. Good to have you onboard.

New fitbit arrived Friday. Charged it Saturday at 11am. Today has 87% battery remaining. That's more like it. Now to return my old one to Very.
