He got heckled quite a bit, apparently. Let's just say it was not a well received appearance. Quite why they thought sticking him in front of a bunch of grumpy pub landlords, who are barely making ends meet, after they've had a few drinks, was a good idea...beyond me.

Urgh the new font and layout of the BBC News app is horrible. It just looks more spaced out and less efficient. Also, instead of being able to swipe left for My News you now have to press a button at the bottom of the screen. I hate change for the sake of change. At least the bloody search function works how you expect it to though, Finally!
We can't have everything.
I don't like the new version either. The annoying thing is that they've got their own typeface, BBC Reith, its lovely and has loads of variations, why they chose this one is beyond me.
Ah due to the variations it would have made the app size way larger, hence just using a similar Android one. Lots of people with shit phones still install it so the download size gets optimised. The new experience has been available I'm settings for years. Though the whole My news thing was mired in years of controversy.

As much as I hate to agree with him he's right here, even if it is for the wrong reasons.
However, there's a much wider issue at stake here than their personal spat about Boris, which is that there's nothing to suggest MPs are under any obligation to actually do any work for the people they're paid to represent.
She's paid £86k a year and she hasn't spoken once in the commons in 14 months.
MPs should be made to show how they are earning their salaries by the work they've done which is demonstrably in their constituents' interest. Might stop so many of the freeloaders who are in it for the money/power/fame.

Will you get off Nadine's case, she's very busy. Busy filling in her Register of Members' Financial Interests entry for the money she receives for her Daily Mail column. It's very big, that's why she is months late with it.
Rumours about her delaying it until she's in the House of Lords or has left the Commons so that the public won't find out about it are wrong. She just hasn't gotten around to invoicing them just yet. Which means she doesn't have to declare it.

Tbf I'd consider running for parliament and doing shit all for 4 years, at that wage. Take home, what, £50k a year or so?
So long as you don't act a complete bellend with money, you can have other bits on the side, pocket about £20k per year into a savings pot - easy £100k over 5 years and leave it gathering interest for ages.
Then, if you think you'll lose your seat, just stand down and cite personal exhaustion/ mental health reasons.

Sounds good until you end up in the Cabinet after a bunch of reshuffles and people discover you’re talentless.

On the one hand there's the whole "can't stoop to their levels" thing a lot of lefties will express, and I do understand that.
But part of me does think we're in the age of misinformation, let's get stuck in. Trying to "fight fairly" doesn't work.
(Quotations of nobody in particular, just general sentiments I've heard)

I feel dirty for posting a link from Sunak's Twitter.
I was gonna say that it's pretty shitty of the Labour MP to post a deepfaked image. But then it turns out he claims he didn't know it was fake either. This is going to be an ongoing issue I think.
Social Networks are going to need to include deepfake detectors in their image upload process. If such things work.

The shopped photo and the actual lies about Brexit booze tax cuts go well together, taxes are really going up and alcohol duty is lower in virtually all of the EU.

David Cameron was our local MP when he was PM, sadly, and when he showed his face at the place I worked as a 'tour of local business', I pretty much hid in the server room so I wouldnt be anywhere near any of the publicity photos. I didnt want even an accidental endorsement of the ruddy faced pig fucker.
I certainly wouldnt have stood behind him while he gormlessly stabbed away at a computer.

Can't help but thinking some random person making a joke picture about Sunak not being able to pull a pint (and a lady does a funny face) can't really be compared to the actual Prime Minister lying that booze is now cheaper thanks to glorious Brexit.
Maybe MPs shouldn't share images without knowing their origins, but I don't think you can say it is an example of them all being the same or stooping to their level.

There is so much genuinely awful shit they've done/are doing/are planning to do that there's no need to make up stuff. If anything it detracts from the seriousness of the situation. To say it doesn't work is wrong. It could work, but Labour's and 'the left's' communication is generally shit.

Its such a weird thing to lie about. Anyone who may be fooled that our prices are high because of the EU will still think prices are high.

That's a fair point, we (and yeah, I know the left isn't a monolith so I'm self-generalising massively) are pretty bad at communication in general

The point they were claiming is that they couldn't do the differential pricing when in the EU.
Although that is not strictly true either.

Now I'm confused which is really the real pic. I would assume someone else, perhaps the person behind, poured the pint and he just pretended to hand it over for the photo. That makes the most sense, stage it perfectly. Eyes forward, looks like Sunak can pour a pint despite being teetotal rather than let a dodgy pic get out in the wild.

She most definitely pulled the pint and then gave a thousand yard stare thinking what led her to this moment in life.

While I dont think there is any need to stoop to their level to the point that they happily roll around in dogshit, I would like to see the gloves come off and have a few more plain speaking 'this is a lie' rebuttals.
Labour let them get away with murder, completely unchallenged and I would like to see them just calling out obvious bullshit without trying to maintain that annoying facade of respect.
