It’s also because he will turn up to the opening of an envelope. If you can’t get a guest, get farage in an Uber and he will be there within the hour.

What relevance does he have right now, other than being part of the metropolitan elite?

Yeah, same deal. It’s not rocket surgery. You make yourself available and easy to work with and you get booked.

Have worked with UKIP (or whatever the fuck Farage is now) in media in the past. They were always available at the drop of a hat.
Want a comment about their candidate, who has absolutely no chance of winning, in the London mayor race? Give them 10 minutes.
Their PR bloke knew me by name and would always just pop a cheery hello on Friday in an email.

So everyone who works in TV is too thick or lazy to try and select guests based on whether they might actually honestly engage with the questions (who could easily be found with a tiny bit more effort), and so just select whatever racist fuckwit will turn up, even if he just wants to advocate drowning refugees. Again. Whyever is the country in the state it's in with conscientious broadcasters like that.

It's also the increased amount of content. In the old days, you had your 6 o clock news, breakfast show then your local stuff. That was it really.
Now it's on all the fucking time and they've got to fill it. They'd actually be better off just running a newsnight omnibus on Sunday morning.

It’s why you get the fuckwits from the IEA on everything. They are well connected and have a bad opinion on anything you can think of.
There are only so many MPs to go around so you make up the numbers with proxies who will say the same thing but slightly more eloquently.
The issue, really, is that conservative media and “think tanks” are so well funded, there are a legion of them on the take, just waiting to turn up to politics live.
On the poverty side of the coin, Ash Sakar and Owen Jones can’t be everywhere at once.

Thankfully in the Owen Jones case. Does seem an obvious case of need right wing person for panel, no actual Tory will stick there head over the trench, Farage is always on standby.

Even CCHQ realised that sending people out to robotically chant ‘we are busy delivering the people’s five priorities’ wasn’t going to cut it today.

To which Laura K could have said 'No one from the Conservative Party was willing to attend today ...'. Instead they give airtime to a vicious turd. What a bunch of useless fucking cunts. The same laziness that causes Tory voters to elect any twat in a blue rosette. Our national broadcaster. As ever, the UK thoroughly deserves everything it gets. Back to the wokewar.

Imagine a 20 year old with a hangover, to whom politics has never occurred previously. He's wondering why after working hard all week he has no money to go out and enjoy the weather. And now here's Nige to explain that it's all the fault of the EU and nasty dirty brown invading child molesters in boats. And definitely not the fault of the right wing who have been in charge his whole life. Of course! And he googles Nige, and then finds GB News amd can spend his life hating foriegners. And GBN figures are up by one. Laura fucking Kuntsberg did that.

What does it tell you, if you refuse to attend, and the replacement to stand in for your side of the meaningless point/counterpoint discussionfest is one of worrying fringe racist groups?

deekyfun Given the recent rise of extremist nutjobs like Braverman and Badenoch, I doubt that fact would even register with your average Tory.

At least if even the most insane Tory MP goes on and spouts the same filth, the viewer has to find more Tories if they want to hear more, and can do so on the BBC and other channels that at least pay lip service to impartiality rules. Allowing Farage on, the viewer follows him back to the most despicable propaganda that broadcasting in the UK has ever seen. Because he's nice to the fucking sound man.

I feel like you can probably waive the (flawed) 1:1 impartiality rules if one of the main parties refused to speak for themselves. Just give the time to the other main parties. I'm sure they'll show up quick enough then.

Same Farage that hates the BBC and its liberal bias from news reporting to its TV programs yeh? Got it. Should really just show that clip of him toasting the camera and saying 'Up the Ra' as an example of how utterly shameless he is.

The husband was also arrested and then what became of that? Released without charge? De-arrested?

If it follows the pattern of how Police Scotland have dealt with the other "arrests" in this inquiry, then she'll be released without charge this evening. Followed by weeks and months of silence, as the inquiry purportedly rumbles on.
If the mismanagement of this £600k donated to the party, which was apparently intended to be ringfenced for Indy Ref#2 but is now being alleged to have been used for general party business, is deemed to have been technically illegal, I suspect it'll be Peter Murrell and the SNP's finance officer that will ultimately carry the can, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.
The rigour and publicly transparent way in which this is being pursued by the police, however, should be a great source of solace for us all. If they are going all out to ensure that public donations of £600k to a political party have been used for the correct piece of internal party-specific business for which they were intended, and not some other piece of internal party-specific business, then it's going to be crazy when they get round to doing the UK government and the £6 BILLION of tax payers money mismanaged during the Covid pandemic. Shit going to be lit.

Michelle Mone and husband took more than 100x as much as the SNP are accused of misallocating (rather than plundering in a national crisis), and they've still got it.
