It’s merely hoops to jump through for sure, but it’s an important distinction that an MP has a duty to serve their constituents until they are no longer able to do so. “I have requested an office of profit for the crown to allow me to stand down” sounds a lot less bombastic that an immediate resignation, and an MP shouldn’t be allowed to have that false message amplified through the media

Fair. But as you say, doesn't have the same splash. There's loads of stuff like this that is condensed into a few pithy words. There's a reason why Erskine May is over a thousand ridiculous pages and then regurgitated in parliament in a few words. I find it all equally fascinating and insulting.

No clear recording of MP’s time on the job.
No requirement to hold regular surgeries or have a constituency office that’s easily accessible.
No minimum hours
No requirement to turn up to Parliament or vote
No minimum service level
Basically do what you want

This annoys me. I want to believe we can get to a position where him and people like him (people who seek to use politics purely for their own self interest, rather than blonde pig-men) can get nowhere near positions of power and we don't have to think about him any more. But he seems to sniff out loop-holes and technicalities like a white rat on the frontier of twat science and no one appears to do anything to fix like them.

I can see his voting record, where he's voted about 5 times over the past year, but that's it.
Maybe he's been going to parliament and sitting quietly on the back benches, and holding regular surgeries. But I very much doubt it.
