Canned.
Though I do agree with the more serious point that 2 years is a bit ridiculous, especially as the painting apparently was unharmed.
I wonder how much of it is jail time vs probation though.

Most of the time, these people who do this is are "look at me, look at me" - while it gets attention, it makes your group look like cunts.
Talking of cunts, Boris had idea to invade holland to get covid vaccines
so nothing new there

interesting that they claimed ÂŁ10,000 worth damage to the frame because if they'd caused ÂŁ9,999 damage it'd be a magistrates level offence with a sentencing range between 6-26 weeks* be interesting to compare "throw soup at a perspex screen" sentence with any eventual convictions for chopping down much loved iconic natural landmark tree because they're claiming over ÂŁ600k damage there
* not a lawyer. do not hire me to represent you in soup based shenanigans edit: revised sentencing guidelines in 2019 may have changed this, possibly ÂŁ5k threshold and "distress caused" being a factor in harm caused - another reason not to hire me as a lawyer which i'm not

As we've seen from that total Diddy with his thousand bottles of baby oil/lube, wrong 'uns like oil, so they're not as bad as anti-oil protesters.

Blimey, Rosie Duffield quits Labour. And since folks were discussing Owen Jones earlier, his take is bang on. Basically she’s that “worst person you know made a great point” meme guy
Edit- removed the Twitter embed because it’s too much of a wall of text when it’s someone replying to their own quote-tweet

Duffield is the one that was recieving lots of complaints from her LGBTQ+ staff around discrimination and then she moaned when the party didn't have her back for all her TERFing views. Should have been chucked out of the party a while ago, if Labour hadn't of been timid around trans issues. I suspect the feeling will be good riddance.

Just was going to say something along those lines after looking up her wiki, she takes this moment to act like she is doing something noble but she sounds quite horrible.
As said before, Labour need to be perfect or near as after calling tories out on their pure sleaze

It's not like the apparent sleaze, avarice and nepotism has just started in the past 12 weeks. Seems like a convenient time to public ally twist the knife.

Wasn’t making MP recall petitions easier an election pledge? Would be worth a chuckle if they introduced new legislation and made it retroactive.

"Our country is not a dormitory for people to come here and make money. It is our home." Think what she meant to say there was "not a dormitory for poor people to come here and make money". And when she says she is "struck for example, by the number of recent immigrants to the UK who hate Israel" it sounds like pretty blatant code for Muslims.

There was some protest here yesterday. The gist I got was they want to start a workers party and Starmer is guilty of genocide.
I had to keep my distance as the ridiculousness made me laugh.

"Badenoch says cultures that believes in child marriage, or that don’t give women equal rights.
She goes on:
I actually think it’s extraordinary that people think that’s an unusual, controversial thing to say.
Of course, not all cultures are equally valid. I don’t believe in cultural relativism. I believe in western values, the principles which have made this country great, and I think that we need to make sure that we continue to abide by those principles, to keep the society that we have now."
Obviously she's talking about parts of American evangelical culture in regards to child marriage and not giving women equal rights...

What I find borderline evil about all that, is that it isn't based on any personal belief or idealism of her own. She's simply gauged the depths Farage has lowered himself to and worked out that she can do the same to potentially benefit herself.
Surely she must be self aware enough to know a sizable majority of the base she's trying to appeal to, won't vote for her anyway purely because of the colour of her skin.
Of course there can be issues and conflict within society, humans for all our technology still remain inherently tribal. Overall though, I think we've come a long way and I'll never forgive the Tories for using division as a weapon.

I wouldn’t dismiss the racist beliefs as not theirs. These are awful people and feel it’s ok to say these things now.

She really is going for the lowest common denominator. Even talks about the fact that she didn't take maternity leave when at The Spectator and quit instead. Just forgot to add the little fact that her husband is an investment banker though...

Bad Enoch would be an amazingly poor choice for leader so I hope the membership pick her. You don't see that level of stupidity, hatred and overconfidence too often and it reflects incredibly poorly to everyone not in thrall to it.
Unfortunately they'll pick the almost sane but also horrible and corrupt Jenrick instead.

You wouldn't normally see it, but it's an emergent pattern in the current political climate.

It feels like a lifetime when the Tories were all about JAMs (just about managing people/families). It's nice to see they've just discarded that facade and gone back the old hits of openly shitting on anyone who's not rich.

At least someone is forcing us to have these difficult conversations.
So, child marriage, yay or nay?

An advantage of child marriage is that there no issue with maternity pay so that must be a bit of a quandary to KB.
I think pretty much everyone would say it's a very bad thing unless it's the middle ages and stops a war.
