Where my in laws live 23% voted for Reform. Still went to labour but anyone that’s been up near Blackpool can quickly see the issue isn’t immigration but that its nowhere near anything and has a reputation to put anyone with money off.
I’m disappointed 20%ish of this country think more years of tories is the answer.
Thankfully we’ve stayed Labour after becoming a new constituency with an mp that puts some effort in. Surrounded by Tory and Lib Dem seats now.

Nice labour gain in my area, but a worrying number of reform votes. Bit like the rest of the country I guess.

Especially with everything that’s gone on over the last 10 years. Quite a big 4 years a head for Labour. They need to remind people that politics works and is in service for the people and not just a game for rich pricks and their buddies.

It's absolutely unreal the difference in various social feeds this morning, especially Tiktok. Reform content has dropped off the face of the earth, it was absolutely relentless in the run up, over 50% of vids, now it's the odd real person moaning, less than 1 in 10 vids.
It mean it was obvious there was a concerted bot run campaign when you looked at the profiles etc but the way its gone from 100 to 0 has really made it obvious to more people hopefully.

Labour won in my area by just under 2,000 votes.

Obviously there is going to be a lot of positive coverage for Labour now but it really is astonishing just how crushing this result is when the primary driver is Tory unpopularity

"Tories wiped out with Liz Truss, Penny Mordaunt, Jacob Rees-Mogg, Grant Shapps among senior Conservatives to lose seats"
Now that's the kind of news I like to wake up to! Shame they weren't totally decimated, and a bigger shame that Reform are making gains. I'll take a win when I get one, though!
Happy Friday everybody!

Also, I want s supercut of losing Tory faces please. Best footage of the night was the wide shot at Truss’ count. After the declaration you saw her shaking a few hands then she turns around to find Ros Atkins in her face. You couldn’t have written it any better.

Can I put a bet on whether Farage will step foot in Clacton again between now and the next GE? He won’t

Fucks sakes. Con hold for us. Less than a thousand votes in it. It was between con & snp and too many extra votes went to lab & lib dem. This. Is. A. Dis. Grace. Mogg getting ousted does warm the cockles of my bitter old heart though. Shame farage got a seat at last.

Waking up to find out Hunt is still an MP is disappointing, my sister texted me yesterday to tell me she'd just been to vote him out. Arse.
Truss and Mogg going is very nice to see though.
I will now be like a zombie after far too little sleep, I wish I could have slept in but my bathroom was scheduled to be redone this week and I don't think the plasterer who is currently working in there was up gone four o'clock this morning. Thanks Sunak for the timing of the election.
6 seats to go as I type, don't think Reform are getting that 13...

Badenoch, Braverman and Farage aside, this has been a rather enjoyable wake-up.

Very interested to see whether Davey is going to lead a Kennedy-style SDP Lib Dem group or a Clegg-style Liberal one now they’ve got enough MPs for anyone to notice again

6 seats to go as I type, don't think Reform are getting that 13... They’re not. Curtiss said at the start that it was the shakiest part of the prediction. They recalculated it around 1:30 and said it would be 4.
