I assume they've made up this 'supermajority' bollocks to try and dissuade non-Tories from voting, thinking the wipe out is a sure thing.

I can't quite believe some of the stuff they manage to say with a straight face, although I guess it's easier when you aren't human.

Its just a scary word they are using to try and scare floating voters. 'Supermajority' wears a cape and uses a socialism ray to turn your kids trans. It also speaks of their contempt for voters, still peddling bullshit even at this late stage.

With inflation being on target and the BOE likely to hold any cut until after the election, it's possible that rates may have to be cut rapidly after the election to keep inflation from falling too far below target, or for QE to be used in some form. What you basing those inflation expectations on? The BOE having throttled growth to ameliorate the effects of an energy supply shock, which is now normalised.

And, yes, being a vibes based person, the lie does make them seem desperate and I get the impression that the falling polls indicate that them being losers is snowballing. Lmao. Apparently the client media are tentatively starting to push a 'ban reporting on polls' agenda.

They might end up with a super majority, and not be able to do much with it. This does slightly irate me. There's no such thing as a supermajority in British politics. It would have been *more* than sensible to employ that requirement in something like the Brexit referendum but, functionally, it doesn't make a difference if they have a one MP majority or 100. I was using 'super' in the traditional sense of 'super duper', rather than in the US sense.

“…a small number of individuals”
Translation: Not a tiny number or a massive number, but a number that’s big enough to be really embarrassing.

I love how many of these utter morons are coming out of the woodwork. If you're going to be corrupt, at least do it properly and nab yourself a decent bit of cheddar.
These bets are just embarrassingly pitiful amounts. Surely at some point while placing the bet they must've thought that it's not such a hot idea...

What a perfect encapsulation of how utterly corrupt and mendacious the Tories are!
Everyone, from Sunak down to those who move in his party's orbit, is on the take to one extent or another.

It's a shame the Tories have deleted their "don't bet on Labour" tweet from yesterday, it was pretty surprising they thought that was a good idea with the betting scandal in their own party coming out.

A copper who works in parliamentry protection has been arrested for misconduct in public office, after the gambling commision found that he'd put a bet on the election date. How come they haven't done the same for the MP?

What a perfect encapsulation of how utterly corrupt and mendacious the Tories are! Everyone, from Sunak down to those who move in his party's orbit, is on the take to one extent or another. It's a great reflection of their attitude - when they talk about "crime" and "criminals" don't actually mean crimes and people who commit them, they use them as code for classes and groups of people. Middle class white people who commit crime aren't criminals to the tories, but inner city working class people who haven't committed crimes probably are.
