I do wonder how many people just have £5K readily available to drop around to someone to pay off some "bad people"?
If you do know anyone with that sort of amount of cash easily accessible could you let me know where they live?

Its actually tory doctrine that you should always have three months worth of blackmail payments in the bank at any time

In the bank is useless in the middle of the night as the price will increase if you dawdle!

Step 1 on my financial plan is 3-9 months regular spending in cash as an emergency fund!
But yeah, in a bank, not under a mattress.

Some other random YouTube actual qualified financial planner had a great slide with tiers for how to build up your plan. I'm basically just following it to the letter. But emergency funds are a big thing across youtube (non crypto day trader pyramid scheme) financial "experts". It's basically, emergency fund -> personal insurance -> pension matching contribution -> pay off high interest debts -> ISA -> extra personal pension -> pay off mortgage early -> general investment account.

So... he urgently needed £5,000 in the middle of the night to pay the 'bad people'... which had risen to £6,500 by morning... that's an expensive happy ending.

Love the idea of all that, but most people are living month to month. It's the sort of advice that only the well off could possibly hope to follow.

Yeah I look at all this and all I think is this that this kind of financial advice has no real world relevance to about 60% of the country or thereabouts.

And that's where I find it veers on insulting when some rich cunt goes on about poor people needing financial management classes.

I don't want to drag it back to that old chestnut but.... that's part of the '70k isn't much money' anymore and that's the kind of level where you can start creating your buffer rather than going on two foreign holidays and lease a Range Rover. If someone had told me how fucking boring 'doing ok' would be, I'd have gone to live in a cave.

Yeah, I was trying to be very conservative because people always say how we're a really wealthy country but every time I come back to England I question that statement more and more.

No word of a lie, I walked into the house just now, turned on the news and literally the first thing I heard was "Over claims he got a dog drunk"

TBF if I was this guy's dog I'd want to drink.
Why on earth is he employing a 78-year-old as his campaign manager? Must be a family member.

Latest from planet bonkers which is where the Conservatives have decided to make home.
They are going to remove a GP’s right to write sick notes and transfer it to ‘specialist health and work professionals’
That’ll be Crapita then 🙄
