It's this keeps up we won't need an election for Sunak to lose his majority.

Sunak looking at ways to deal with the wrongful convictions of postmasters.
Surely all you do is pass a law stating that the Horizon data was inadmissible evidence in the cases that need reviewing. Then the High Court has a conveyor belt day of quashing them one after the other.

Retrospectivity can be tricky in law. Not impossible but needs all sorts of approvals by Learned people.
Anyway, another normal one in Wellingborough (Peter Bone's constituency). The local party have chosen his partner as the candidate for the by-election.

Apparently the Sunday Times were reporting that Bone threatened to run as an independent if she wasn't on the shortlist of candidates (he denied this was true).
Yeah, nothing fishy going on about any of that at all.

I thought it was quite funny that Tory backbenchers are going around saying that the country is worse off now than it was before the 2010 election. Then I read further down the page and its because they’re upset that the Coalition and Conservative governments haven’t been right-wing enough.

They will absolutely take every wrong lesson from their well deserved trouncing. As they say in football, our Plan B is to make Plan A work.

Sunak saying that we should stick with the plan rather than going back to square one with Labour would have more weight if the Tories hadn't been in power for a disastrous 14 years and they clearly have no plans at all.
Just fuck off to Silicon Valley you useless tosser!

A reset of some description certainly appeals more than more of the fucking same from the Tories.

I would honestly start using that in promo literature
'After 14 years of this shit, time to reset back to square one'

Shamelessly stolen from UKPolitics on Reddit.
That reset in full:
I have a plan. Just have some GOD DAMNED FAITH!

Wasn't he trying to paint himself as an agent of change at the party conference. "Vote for change..... No, not that sort of change."
Genuinely would be surprised if Sunak or Trump went full Kang and Kodos and started talking about wanting to be a baseball, twirling towards freedom and exchanging long chain molecules.

Did he think they were like an appliance that would short-circuit when wet, or something?

Going back to UK stuff I really am looking forward to Rishi's tour of the UK where he tries to gaslight the nation into believing the Tories haven't absolutely fucked over the long term viability of the country over 14 years.

I honestly believe that Trump does not care either way and would definitely say anything, anything at all, without knowing what it is or how to pronounce it; the man has no shame.

Sunak's problem is that you'd have to have a huge amount of charisma to pull that off but he hasn't got it. His advisors need firing as well as the back to square one line has backfired spectacularly.

But yes your point does stand that he has the charisma of a damp, moldy flannel.

Johnson may have been a lying cunt but he was good at coming up with a line "Get Brexit Done", "Captain Hindsight" etc. Sunak's also a lying cunt but he can't even work out the basic cunning lie to attempt to be good at politicking.

So he's "seriously considering" the Post Office chief's CBE, but Michelle Mone, that 27 year old intern what probably sucked BoJo off and everyone Truss enobled is still alright.
Can ITV do some more dramas please.

Is it me or is it weird that the government and police both seem to be taking action in response to an itv drama that they haven't taken in the past few years in response to a situation everyone knew about for the past few years?
I haven't watched the drama, but I don't think it revealed anything that wasn't already fully public.

Ignoring anything that doesn't serve their own ends until it might harm their popularity seems completely normal for government and police.

Can ITV do some more dramas please. Teeside Freeport: The Musical Starring Reece Sheersmith as Ben Houchen You’ll be amazed at how local businessmen can make profit out of zero investment, while making the taxpayer foot all of the bills.
