Portal is probably the most comfy handheld I've ever played. I think without all the tech inside, it is just light enough to sit for hours.

The only thing I don’t like about it is that the sticks are a little looser than a regular dual sense. And because of the design I’m not about to open it up and tinker.
Also that it’s WiFi 5. For when this came out it should have been 6, if not 6e.

I was surprised by how well Chiaki works on the ROG Ally. Going to pony up for PSPlay and see how that is but its actually very playable.

I knew if I bought one it would end up in a cupboard like the PlayStation VR headset I never used and sold. Cloud play sounds good though, dependent on visuals, stability and whether they lock it behind a £100 pay wall. I had a quick blast on R&C at lunchtime and it's decent. Smooth, very few stutters. Always find it a bit tricky to.judge as the portal doesn't really like my mesh network

Downloaded the update, unlocked the streaming beta and streamed GTAV as a test; it ran very nicely indeed. This will open up more options for me I think - as most of the time I don't want to play something I want to play on the TV and sometimes the connection is too unstable for online gaming if too far away from the console.

Now to test if it'll stream whilst someone else is on the PS5 on a different account...

The incoming PSVR2 Horizon bundle Black Friday deal is tempting at the price point and arguably should have been close to the launch RRP to give the hardware best chance of going more mass market.
What concerns me still is the limited and mostly gimic style nature of the current and incoming games library.
Also that being a PSVR newbie I might also spend more time with motion sickness than enjoying the games. Although typically I’m good with rl and travel movement so maybe I’d be mostly good… it’s still a gamble… Also ideally the headset would be cable free…
Gut feeling does tell me that PSVR3 could be unlikely though after PS6 so this is probably as good as it gets on console for the next 5yrs or so tech wise but will likely be compatible and enhanced on PS6 like it has been with PS5 Pro…
/ponders and will likely still not invest for now

I really don't see a PSVR3 happening.

My self indulgent anniversary has shipped. I really debated about cancelling it but fuck it. I think the last month of doing fuck all has somewhat paid for it haha.

I use a Quest 3 for sim racing on PC and never had any problems, even from the start. I would never go back to flat screens.
The original PSVR headset I had did give me some disorientating moments though. That was my first exposure to VR. Very well suited to static driving games and the like, hear good things about Grand Turismo.
That is coming from somebody who gets sea sickness but not general motion/car sickness.
Is a bit of a crapshoot though, no doubt does put people off handing over the dosh for one.

I had a Pro and an anniversary controller preordered, then had a moment of “what the fuck am I doing” and cancelled. I’ve got better pieces of random tat to waste my money on.

I had a pang of regret a few minutes ago when I got the dispatch notice for the anniversary pad. Completely forgot I ordered that.

I've been really pleasantly surprised by indie titles, and there's lots to appreciate if you missed out on psvr1 as there's tonnes of good remasters.

Unsurprisingly CDPR have said they're not planning a PS5Pro patch for Cyberpunk.

Can’t blame them really. 2yrs of polishing a turd into a pearl why start messing around with it again?

Yeah, I would have liked to see them add a bit of RT. I guess I should actually add it to my 'play soon' pile then.

No sign of any movement on the 30th anniversary controllers from Argos or Amazon considering today is the release date. Amazon says delivery Saturday while Argos says sit tight your order is in process.
Anyone order from elsewhere

Got my slim anniversary delivered. It is a thing of beauty. Fantastic packaging with some nice extras. Kind of feels like being a kid again opening the OG PS1.

There's a giant PSX poster in a fancy PS case, stickers, cable ties and PSX USB port thingy. My first thought is how quiet it is compared to my launch PS5 and no coil whine! woohoo. The controller is lovely too.
