Pro at £700 and GTA6 at potentially £100. Barmy times.

Still proper fuckin annoyed it on console first. Black Myth concurrent users proved there's fuckin millions of us and we're just as eager to play shit. Anyways, back to PS5 being expensive... Yeah I think GTA will help sell some units.

GTA6 on PS5Pro is a whole separate conversation. My position is clear: no Heaven17, no deal.

The pro is basically for people with personalised number plates and an RS badge isn't it?

Does GTA6 even have a launch date yet? Late 2025. But with it being Rockstar, you'd be a fool to expect them to adhere to that.

It does really boil down to: If you have the disposible income, are a gaming enthusiast with a penchant for Sony, have a big fuck off expensive TV that can really make the most of it, then you'll probably buy it.
It's just not an essential purchase for those that don't fit the above criteria. Which is fine. I can relax in a way as if it had been slightly cheaper and more impressive then I would have been looking at ways to stretch the budget for it but as I see no reason to own one, I'm a bit relieved.

The most intriguing aspect is the fact that MS games that will be going onto ps5 will have Pro versions and the whole fan boy war that will erupt from that. I was thinking about that. Doom The Dark Ages releasing with a better version for PS is not going to go down well for MS. It won't matter if people are actually playing the Pro version or not- it just looks bad

If they said Last Guardian was 60fps, then you are tempting me.

There's nothing there to tempt me. I will use this PS5 to destruction and then see what's what.

If it came with a ton of new ps5 pro exclusives, and developers taking it forward with new stuff, then yay. But it's just going to be 60fps, higher fidelity, etc on all the existing shite isn't it. Also, it can go fuck itself if it's digital only.

Well yeah, if the game is already cpu limited it's not going to make a ton of difference other than having a sharper image or some effects.

If they said Last Guardian was 60fps, then you are tempting me. The base PS5 can already do this with a pre patched version of the game iirc. But I suppose the Pro could have higher resolution fur to admire while you struggle with shite controls

What's hilarious is I still load a new game up, obsessively switch between performance and fidelity mode, convince myself I see a difference, realise I can't see a difference, pop it on performance and marvel at how amazing the game looks anyway.
I think technology has surpassed my actual eyeballs. I'm not upgrading from a PS5 until I can get some kind of cyberpunk shit done to these old fading balls of goo in my skull.

So what does it actually do that the ps5 doesn't then? Basically more shinies if the dev wishes so and if the game isn't cpu limited fidelity mode at 60fps. There's machine learning supersampling so it'll probably help with games looking a bit sharper basically dlss. I mean do I think making games I've already played look a bit sharper or have a slightly higher setting is worth that massive mark up, no I don't.

Yeah, unless I'm missing something, it's just like a beefed up ps5. Which, er, do we actually need? A few games would be a better start, wouldn't it?

I don't even bother with Quality modes. Check options to make sure it's on Performance and forget about it. I'll notice 30fps whether I've tried 60 or not. I won't notice the difference to graphics Even if it does look notably better, it's still not as good as it'll look on PC, and that not as good as on a Super PC, and that not as good as a Super PC From the Future

Hang on a minute.
This is from playstation.com
First snippet -
"PS5 Pro provides gamers with amazing graphics at high frame rates."
OK, cool, but I'm happy with my DISK based ps5, but go on...
"You’ll notice the height is the same size as the original PS5, and the width is the same size as the current PS5 model to accommodate higher performance specs. Players can add an Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive, or swap out console covers when they become available."
Jog on mate.
